A Love Poem

Lying on my back, gazing at the sky
I think of you and I can fly
Soaring high over oceans so blue,
This makes no sense, but it is oh so true.

In loving you there is no in between.
When we're together I'm living a dream.
You're the sunrise of my every dawn,
Without your love I couldn't go on .

You're my sunset on a sandy beach,
A beauty so close, yet out of reach.
A leaf caught in a summer's breeze,
Only you can bring me to my knees.

You are my heart, you are my soul.
Only you complete me, make me whole.
Only through you do I feel strong
As I continue to love you my whole life long.

My final hurrah at summer's end
I'll love you forever, my elusive friend.
And when I've taken my last breath,
I promise to love you beyond death.

A very powerful love poem. Is this a poem of fulfillment or one of longing? A love here and now or one gone which you (or the person in the poem)still wants and needs? Finely written.

Beautiful metaphor to describe your passionate feelings. I love the bouncy rhythm and the flow is quite nice except for the last line in stanza four. Too many syllables. Still, a very enjoyable quatrain.
