This is something I have been wrestling with. My son has a DS and every year since he has received it I have bought him new games for it. This year with Travis and I both not working money is of course tight. Game Stop is a great place to get new and used video games. Now I buy used games for him just because, but I have never bought used ones for Christmas and then wrapped them under the tree. I guess I'm wrangling this around so much is shouldn't the things you buy for someone for Christmas be new? Then again can you consider video games used? I mean you can sell jewelry that is old as new - it's either called antique or you simply don't know it. I mean it isn't like you wear video games and then have someone else's cooties on it ;) I don't know maybe it would be better to just give him a gift card from there? What are your thoughts?

My boys love different games, they do not care if they are used or not!!
We usually let them pick them out- fact is they ask to go to this game place to get used games! They are given this much money from us - to spend how they wish. More bang for the buck with used stuff.
It is new to them!! My boys also found out if they do not take care of them, then they can not trade the games in for other ones.
If a person does not appreciate gifts, then it will be a very cold day when they get another one from me!
Fact is I have a old plate here, the halmark kids plates for my mother. She collects them and I am sure she will love it!! It is old, I got it for a song, no chips no damage at all!

He's rather have the game used than not have it at all.
My son gets all his games from the used game store.
