Okay... maybe not as fun as I thought!

I took the boys strawberry picking to celebrate Earth Day earlier this week.  Well, I was talking to my sister about it and she reminded me of a trip to pick blackberries a few years ago. 

At the time, we were visiting family in Ohio.  I managed to convince my two youngest boys and my niece to go with me to pick blackberries at a local farm.  I had remembered picking berries at that farm as a little child and thought it would make for a "nostalgic" trip to share with my boys. 

Well... I loved being there... my little "flashback".  Apparently the kids weren't as impressed with the trip!  LOL!  Looking back at the pictures I have to chuckle at their expressions!

I too use to go with my Mom, and I remember it as a fond memory, yet I also know I hated every min. of it. LOL! =)

I take the kids cherry picking in the summer.
We live in California so there is fruit trees everywere. And the kids love to pick the cherries then teh peaches then the oranges.

We'll be heading out pick blueberries in June... they liked the strawberry picking, but I hope the blueberries don't remind them of the "blackberry incident". LOL!

I have great memories of picking raspberries on camping trips when I was a kid.

Well, maybe they ate enough berries so you didn't have to feed them that night and you got enough for freezing for next winter's stores!

I use to love picking blackberries with my mom. There was an empty lot next to our home and it was filled with blackberries. My only concern was snakes..yikes!

Things have just changed it seems. Blackberry picking with my grandmother are some of my finest memories. My nephew and nieces were never quite thrilled with it. Now my daughter, she's a nature lover so if I could ever find any berries around here, she'd be all for it, I believe.
