Dead Bear Found in North Carolina Covered in Obama Campaign Posters

I just read this article on Yahoo and I was appalled. Apparently early yesterday morning maitnance workers found the body of a 75lb bear cub shot to death in front of the Western Carolina University entrance. The bear was shot in the head and wrapped in a pair of Senator Obama's campaign signs. At this time authorities have no leads as to who would have done such a thing. At this time it is bear season in North Carolina.

What is this world coming to? Has anyone ever seen an election of this nature before where poor defenseless animals are being killed to send messages - and one can just guess the meaning being displayed here - and the name calling, mud slinging, and down right prejuidice?

I can't even fathom the logic of this. What is the message? I can only assume it is some sort of "pro-gun" message, since it is bear hunting season.

I dont' know but I took it to mean they didn't want him campaigning or running for office. They put the bear in front of a University.

That's just terrible! This is the work of an evil, evil, mean-spirited person and I hope nobody is crazy enough to think that this is the mindset of most McCain supporters.

That really stinks, and a cub no less. I don't get the message either actually, if there is a specific one.
I doubt it is a pro-gun message Julie, as a gun owner and a hunter, I find this horrible, and anybody I know would too. Anti- Obama "Wacko's" no doubt....

Animal killers and bigots, I wonder who did this? I am sure after watching the fifth during this campaign, it not very hard to guess, who would commit such dirty act!

Turns out they are students that were trying to a prank that went bad. I guess they found the bear already dead, the signs were the only thing around to stop a blood trail, etc. etc. That's the story anyway.... see link.

Thanks for the link John S. Just read through it. I tell you the police in North Carolina must not know what they are doing. The article I linked above said it was shot in the head. After finding the students they claim it was hit by a car. My question is why drag it from the side of the road? Why wrap it posters? They say to staunch the blood....okay leave it where it is and call animal control.
