Short Story First Line Challenge -- Sentence 51...

The 51st First Line Challenge Sentence is:

A cacophony of horns and curses filled the air.

The required characters:

Bill -- a taxi driver

Lindy -- a young woman

Here are the rules:

1) Your story must begin with the provided first line.

2) You must include the provided characters, although you may include others.

3) Story to be under 1000 words.

4) You must be a member of the First Line Challenge group to post your article there, and include First Line Challenge in the title or the tag. Be sure to select "Short Story First Line Challenge" as one of the private groups to which you are posting.

5) Identify the week number in your title line. For example, "Story Title (FLC #40).

6) The group is not moderated, although the group owner reserves the right to remove any article not a part of the competition or deemed to be inappropriate in content.

7) Group content is private to protect your publication rights (you must select "Private: Selected Private Groups" under "Who Can View This Article" to see the group). Your story will appear on the group site, available only to other group members. If you've published it to other groups, you will see it on those. The choice is yours.

8) Family friendly content only, please.

The competition will run from Saturday, June 14 through noon CST, Saturday, June 21, with the three top stories announced on Sunday evening and featured for the next week on the group site.
