I work in a department that gives clothes to those in need. Well talk about perfect timing. We washed, sorted, and compiled alot of our kids clothes that they weren't able to wear any longer. We serve the community in this manner. We also provide food for them as well.
Anyway, all three of my kids are on the verge of needing more clothing. We gave the clothes they couldn't wear anymore in very good condition (I might add) on a Tuesday. Well some other family donated clothes to our department that were right along the sizes that my kids were in need of. Boy that cuts down on shopping for more clothes.
The reason I entitled this article I'm Loving Kid's clothes is because more than half of the clothes I picked out for my daughter were adjustable pants. So even though technically those clothes are really too big. They are able to be adjusted to her true size and she is able to wear them now. And when she gets to the point of being able to wear the other pants that don't have adjustables waist liners in them. She can adjust the ones she is wearing now again and have those clothes all over again. How great is that?
Now if only they made those type of clothes for adults. ~ LoL!

Looks like you had fun.. I have found a lot of things of freecycle.
I love, love, love that feature in kids clothing now. My kids have always been skinny, and needed belts. The adjustable waists are SO nice, especially when they're still too young to be able to handle the buckle on a belt easily.
Sounds like you have done well in both giving and receiving!
And actually, I have seen adjustable waists in some clothing- men's & maternity, mostly. I got my hubby a pair of brand new shorts like that at Goodwill- still creased, with the tags. I found out why- the things were HUGE for the supposed size. Anyway, they hid the adjuster in the pocket & waist. The shorts expanded using elastic, but not with a button hole to adjust the size.
Maternity bottoms are the same in some instances, to avoid the elastic waist or pouch.
You did very well Henry. Everyone is looking for ways to make it in this economy.
This is great.
now you did find you sensitive site ..
That is absolutely awsome! You'd love it where we live. There is a really NICE dro-in centre right across the street from my apt. I say "nice" because now that it's moved, it's so much better than where it was before. Before all kinds of riff-raff just wanting food because they drank or smoked all their money came in for a meal. Now they have it set up to encourage rehabilitation of the homeless (finding them jobs, computers to use, temp agencies near by, a place for a shower, and so on and so forth). Also, my apartment is right between it (infront) and the police station (behind), so not much is likely to happen.
That is the only kind of jeans or shorts my gd can wear are the adjustable ones. If they did not make them then we would have a hard time finding jeans that would be long enough for her.
I hate paying full price for clothing kid only fit in for a few months
What a great program- my son's waist is a 3T and his height is a 7 (yes-he's a skinny minny) so I love adjustable waists...it is a chain store?
No store at all. It's a community help center.
I love those pants with the adjustable waist. You can get so much more use out of the clothing.
That is wonderful! It's the ultimate give and receive.
Thanks Amber.
That's terrific! I agree with you on needing the same thing for adults.
LoL!
you blessed and were blessed in return
OMG, this is so true. I cannot purchase pants/jeans for my kids unless there is that adjustable feature. their waists are so slim and their legs are so long! im sure you know since you enjoy those pants as well.
there are adult pants like this, but you have to be pregnant.
LoL! fat chance of me getting pregnant or my wife getting pregnant again for that matter.
How great!
Thanks Tory.
