A couple days after Goldie had her stitches put in she still was really up to snuff. Did a lot of sleeping and wasn't really eating much. You can see that by the picture. She would just lay down by her bowl. Sometimes eventually eating, sometimes not. When I took her into the vet on Friday for a bandage change, they had to take her stitches out, over a week early, because even with the e-collar she was still able to push her bandage down and lick at her wound. This caused the tissues to swell, which in turn make the stitches start cutting through the tissues. They applied some goopy stuff to a non-stick pad, stuck it on her cut, then re-wrapped her. The vet said she would just have to heal by letting the would granulate over. I'm a little sad over this, because it will mean a bigger scar and I think her healing time will be a bit longer.
You'd never know she was hurt now. She's up trying to run around and play with the other two dogs. It's very hard to keep her calm. She's not supposed to return to "regular" activities for another week.
Thank you all who gave such nice comments and were worried about her. I appreciate it!!Here's a pic of Bogey and Goldie restin on Gruff.
