Wednesday evening our church met at the park. David had been playing football and having a good time. On our way home we were listening to the radio and all of a sudden David asked me if he could have a girlfriend. I was shocked to say the least. I turned down tha radio and asked him what he said. He said "Can I have a girlfriend?" I asked him why he wanted a girlfriend and he said, "I don't know I just want one." I asked him who he wanted to be his girfriend he told me he didn't know. But that he just wanted one. Then he said that when he gets older he wanted one. I told him that was a good idea to wait until he got older and that he should ask his dad about when he could have a girlfriend. He suddenly said "No! We cant tell Dad!"
So of course when we got home, I did tell Joe, but David wasn't in the room. He did tell Joe himself though and we talked about it some more. He told us when he got older he was going to have a girlfriend and then get married like Mom and Dad.
The whole thing took me off guard. I mean he is only 4 years old! Way to young to be thinking about girls.
