Ban Baby Bottles

bottles aren't natural...breastfeed is best feed

I agree breastfed is best. But I also know with many single mothers and having to have both parents work to make ends meet. Sometimes it is impossible to do.

I did breastfeed my oldest and youngest children.

My middle child I did not. I did try but his mouth was not big enough to get the right suckion and left sores on me. By time I went back to the doctors to see if I was doing it right. He had lost weigh. That is when the lady there told me i was to big for my baby to properly latch on. So, I was forced to bottle feed him. I cry for days on end thinking I was failure as a mother. But I know now otherwise. It was just one of those things I had no control over.

No, baby bottles are fine. They have been plastic for how many decades and now they are trying to say they cause problems.

If you ban bottles how are you going to feed the babies who's mom can't breast feed?

They are wanting to ban the plastic baby bottles becayse the plastic release toxians. They could always use the glass baby bottles.

I dont mind the ban on just plastic ones

Good heavens! Legislating what a mother must do to feed her child. I didn't want to breastfeed so I didn't. I can't imagine a government getting so intrusive into my personal life that they would do such a thing. Another stupid idea as far as I'm concerned.

What is up with Canada? You can't even buy soda in anything but glass bottles there.

I guess mom's will have to buy their babies a cow then.

I Canada going to ban ALL baby bottles...or just the three types of plastic ones that can't be recycled and cause health problems? I've read that glass baby bottles are best because they don't break down and can be sterilized. Many doctors have deemed the glass bottle to be the best to be used.

I am sure glad that I nursed my youngest son until 12 months, and I hope my youngest didn't get harmed from using bottles from the age of 4 months to 12 months.

For those that cannot nurse, they cannot be banned. How will a child eat and survive if the mother is unable to produce enough milk, the baby cannot properly latch on or the mother has to WORK?

They can't ban them without something to take their place.

In my grandmother's day there were wetnurses. They helped out a mother who couldn't nurse her baby. I don't know if it would be likely of this practice happening in todays world.

I think most of the stupid stuff they come up with is nothing but BS. How many years have we used plastic bottles? I know I sucked on one 30 years ago and 50+ years ago both my paretns did and 4 & 6 y/o ago both of my sons did. There is nothing wrong with any of us.

I dont care what they have to say anymore, I think its is nothing but a bunch of crap. One day they were saying tea caused cancer. Then the next thing you know they are saying it helps cure cancer and helps stop drinkers from getting it. The same thing with bubble gum.

Personally I think you have to be half cracked to believe anything they have to say anymore. They are paid big bucks by big companies to say what they want them to say. To help them sell things. Im not on the big corp. America ban wagon and I could careless what they all have to say. They have no proof of there findings, other them there word and its not worth crap to me.

Breast fed may be preferable but not every mother can breast feed. Is pretty annoying to hear people knock bottle feeding your child. What are mothers that are not able to breast feed supposed to do? I had no problems breast feeding my son and did it as long as I could. Once I went back to work though I wasn't able to anymore. My company made it difficult and uncomfortable for me.

I have 3 healthy girls. 12, 10, and 6. All bottle fed. They are all intelligent and no diseases. My first two kids- I didn't produce enough milk, because I was in a stressful situations and plus I wore size AA bra. I really did not know what the problem was. I bought a pump and it took me nearly two hours to milk two ounces. My third kid was allergic to my milk and she thew it up and diarriah really bad. That was everytime I breastfeed. She nearly died, because I starved her and she was not getting enough nutrition. It is good when you hear good stories about breastfeeding, but not for all. You have to do what is good for yourself. My second child was suppossed to have had learning disabilities because she was born blue. I really tried nursing with her, but did not work out because I have heard nursing changes things and make them smarter. Her IQ is higher than most adults.(she got tested) for a 10 yr old that is good. All of my children are very, very smart. No special classes at school!!! WIC says breastfed children are smarter than formulafed. Not true, in my case. We need bottles!! What about adoptive parents? What do they do?

I heard that they used bottles in the bible days. Not like the ones today, of course. I have no idea what they had in it? Probably cow's milk. The bottles were made out of bull's horns. My dad drank evaporated milk and condensed milk together for his formula. I also heard that some hospital was not going to give formula to new moms. This is to promote breastfeeding. Some babies have to have formula.

breastfeeding is far superior in terms of brain nutrition and therefore by far the best choice for babies under age 1.
regarding baby bottles, for those who refuse to recognize the value of breastfeeding or who simply can't (a tiny percentage actually) or who find it too difficult to pump at work (more of a real problem) there needs to be a bisphenol free alternative. This is the 21st century, we can make things safe if we make the effort. The plastic industry needs to get rid of bisphenol on their own. Selling a product that appears to be unhealthy is unaccpetable, they need to stop hiding behind the idea that the risks are unproven. Bisphenol needs to be eliminated pending further research, not allowed to be used until proven guilty.
