We live in a world where the small things sometimes go unnoticed or forgotten by our ever expanding eyes and busy lives. I think we sometimes aim our eyes at the large things in our lives or the large events on the news. Other times, we latch on to the small things and use them to lash out at loved ones. We pick at them make them bigger until they are blown way out of proportion. It usually leads to more trouble than the small item was worth. More importantly at least to me, there are small things that make everything else okay.
It is amazing how small things can lift a person up. What a difference a smile from the right person can make. It's the kiss from a certain someone in your life. It might be the way your dog or cat greets at the end of your work day. For me there is nothing more important than my great nephew. I love the way he comes into the house and calls out my name to announce he wants to see the spiders. It's cool because, it's an experience no one else in the family can have with him. When I'm out in nature I often feel very small, but at the same time each discover is one of those small things can liven up my day. It's the small things that we cherish in relationships. We need to remember those small things.
Why do we need to cherish those small things? We need to remember those small things for the times, when life maybe dragging on us. It makes life worth living to have moments when those small gestures are given to us. Today for example, I was asked to watch my great nephew while my niece got ready for school. We, my 3 year old nephew and me, played a game of hide and go seek. He got a blast out of that. Maybe I am too old for that, but you know it was a small thing. He may not remember it as he gets older but for that speck in time, I got to be a kid again. He got to hang with his great uncle. What more could he ask for? In closing, find times to make small things happen in the lives of loved ones. Find a way to remember those small things that happen to you in your daily life. You just never know when life might give you reason to fall back on those small things.

This was such a wonderful read. We do indeed need to remember the small things. When you are feeling down and have something to think about it sure does help. Thank you for this great reminder.
