The newest Defense Bill that was signed by Obama today, is set to spend 680 Billion Dollars, Cut the development of the F-22 fighter, and the many jobs that went with it, as well as many other Military needed projects and developments. This Bill now that after all the cuts in spending will still cost the US Tax Payer $680 Billion, and reduce our Military, reduce Jobs, and reduce spending? Is anyone buying this?
This is by the President that in 6 months spent as much as Bush did in 5 years in the Whitehouse, and increased spending even higher, with no returns to the tax payer. With unemployment at 17.8 to 18.9% and climbing (figures after the who signed for Unemployment checks), and he is going to cut more jobs? How is this helping the US economy? Raise Taxes, and cut jobs does not make a very good cake, like adding more flour but removing the water.
Again the Republicans who disagreed with the Bill, were stepped over, an constant action with the policy of Obama to work with both sides…
Cutting Military spending, and development, Obama says is benefiting the American People and Military, which before was an affront to them. The excuse given was that the fighters would not have worked in today’s battle field, yet we constantly upgrade equipment to fit the battle at hand. Our fighters today were not designed to this type of battlefield, yet they do very good.
What this does show, is the constant action by the man sitting in the Oval Office, and his hatred for this country. He would sell the US to the highest bidder, after he has us so weak we could not defend ourselves. The thing in, many on the left still support his actions, but that group is slowly dwindling down as they discover the freighting truth.
What the President did not get removed was the F-35, even though Obama did threaten to veto the bill if that was not axed also.
“Yet the legislation still contains an effort by lawmakers to continue development — over the president's strong objections — of a costly alternative engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the Air Force's fighter of the future. A vague White House veto threat about that never came to fruition.”

“Noting that cost overruns in military projects total tens of billions of dollars, Obama called for further "fundamental" reforms in how the government and Pentagon do business.”

The fact is that this bill saved 10’s of billions in spending yet still achieved 680 billion to replace it with, and lost jobs, which will mean more lost taxes, thus less money to work with. Smart moves by the Government.
About the only worth while effort, in the bill was to make sure that the gays and lesbians are covered by the hate crimes acts. No one should be punished because of a difference, unless they make themselves a nuisance, and then by proper means, and not hate or violence.
All-in-all, this bill is going to be another expenditure that we could do without, and will cost us billions down the road. It is poor operation from elected members of the Government, and a standard operation as usual in Washington.
No wonder the word has it from my Military sources, that they are seeing signs Obama is growing afraid of them. It all stands to reason.

Dan R. is not a journalist, nor does he have any degrees on Political Science. He just pays attention to reality, and notes what he sees. It that bothers others, then so be it, but here for you to read or not.

Throwing money at the schools does not educate the children. Maybe it's too many crooks and thieves or a departure from the basics, but it's not money.
While some US public schools may be deplorable, over all that is not the case. But the "everything-government-is-bad" crowd are certainly promoting the view that it is.
And, yes, these rates are quite a lot higher over all than they were in September 0f 2008. As you may recall, though the right-wingnut sector it trying to ensure you don't, that was before the Bush economic collapse hit in October of 2008.
The real information to derive from this news is that unemployment went up dramatically because of the economic disaster brought on by eight years of mismanagement and foolish overspending under Bush, and that it is slowly going down under the Obama stimulus package. While Obama has been forced by these circumstances to overspend, at least he's doing it to create jobs and stimulate the economy, not to allow wealthy folks to shelter more of their income off-shore and deposit or invest it overseas.
I don't like some people, make them up.

It does suck that these people are losing their jobs but when my job with the post office laid me off last year under Bush, where was your outrage then? Where was your complaint about Bushs spending and the Unemployment rate rising the last year he was in office when it was rising constantly?
Remember the last two years that Dems controlled Congress - having said that, I believe they are both responsible. Obama has pent more in his first 6 mo than Bush did in 5 years,( perDan's post).
The only thing I know about the P.O. is that many people do all their communication, news search, and bill paying on line, thus the drop in mail. That still doesn't mean the same routs were decreased, but did it mean those who staffed the offices and low volume post offices were closed?
What are you doing now? Hope all is going well...
That is just insane.
Did you hear about the 1-billion-dollar loan some auto manufacturer in Finland got from the Zero Administration to build "green" cars??
It was one billion on top of another one billion that they got just a few weeks ago.
The cars are supposed to sell for somewhere between 90 and 130 thousand dollars a piece.
So, in other words, the American taxpayers just shelled out two billion for a car maker in Finland to produce cars that the majority of American taxpayers could never afford to buy...........

Where are all the people who were outraged by Cheney ans Halliburton now??
"Where are all the people who were outraged by Cheney ans Halliburton now?? "
THey were Conservatives, that cannot be allowed, this is a Liberal super-mogul so that is ok...
I guess if I told them it would cost the Consumer 200k per car, for it, then someone would have jumped on it...
Thank you Vickey.
