This move caught me off guard, its something I didn't expect.
I hope its the right one, no I don't see it as abandoning her station, I have to say I see it as she made a decision, whether its the right one or not remains to be seen.
I would like to see Palin in a more political role, I don't ever see her being elected president, as much as I can relate to her as a person, and as much as I like her, I truly don't think she would ever be elected as president of the U.S.
Simple she's a female.
I've got nothing against females running the country, however, I have to say right now that having watched Hillary go through a campaign and to lose the nomination, I think it would be the same outcome for Sara Palin.
The thing she has going for her is that moms can relate to her, they know she understands what it's like to have kids with special needs, and I have to wonder if that alone would effect her and her duties, even if she had staff to help her care for her kids................
For Sara Palin to have a clear shot at the presidential nomination and election, she needs political experience on a national level, such as Congress. Will she get it? I don't know, or can we expect to see her write a book about the campaign that so many republicans seem to like to blame her for losing.
I don't think we've seen teh last of Sara Palin, but I would like to hear what she has planned for her future, political and otherwise.

I agree, Mooch.....
Because if a snide sicko joke by David "What-Me-Worry?" Letterman can get to her, then I would hate to see how she would cave if she ran for POTUS.......
The problem with the political arena is that we vote for people we can relate to as people. That's an unfortunate Americanism and keeps both Democrats and Republicans in the Whitehouse handing the reigns of power back and forth between themselves, perpetuating the dynasty and creating havoc with the dynamics of American life.
As a governor, she did some great things for Alaska with the budgets and turning the State around, and that alone worked in her favor. And that is one thing that really helped her in the campaign.
No she's not perfect,
Yes she made mistakes
And as someone else said we haven't heard the last of her.
mooch
We haven't heard the last of her.
I think it was a political move on her part. She's setting herself up for bigger things. She'll probably run for the Senate.
Mooch regardless of whether a person likes her or hates her, if she makes a return to politics, I dont think she will be embraced like she once was. She didnt complete her role as Alaska's Govenor and he is going to be hard for some of her followers to get out of the back of their minds that she is a quiter. For those that dont like her or dont support her now, its going to be hard to get behind someone that wont "stay the course" and will resign when the going gets tough. At least that is how I think she will be viewed. I might be wrong. As for her not getting elected because she is female, people said the same thing about the U.S. having a black president. Its highly possible to have a female president but I dont think its going to be Palin.
I have a feeling a bombshell will be dropped in the coming weeks. I know there are some big doin's going on in AK right now, so I'll bet something big is gonna hit the fan soon.
Just a hunch.
... i also concur with this statement ...
Well the other side people,on the political fence, have really spewed unhuman hatred towards her. Even to the point of making fun of her children. I know it would be tough for me to take people making my of my 11 year old daughter.
Can you imagine the pain that goes through her heart when people such as Letterman use her kids just so he can get a cheap laugh. I know my kid's sake, no public office would be worth it.
?
Instead of being in a higly demanding political position, this mother needs to be at home with her children at this time. She has a baby who needs her constant and needed help.
I still shudder about Trig's being bundled around in public during the convention.
I think Sarah Palin intends to tread her own unique path in politics and in her life, and for people who get tired of the status quo, she certainly is a breath of fresh air. I certainly hope this all works out one way or the other.
