I agree Bill!
Kitty for Prez!
This is 100% typical of the so called opposition. NO offer of a different kind of solution,
or do you prefer that nothing be done?
I know all the anti Democrat gather writers do a job spewing opposition, none including you have anything to offer as a fix, to the broken mess the U.S. and world economy is in.
Cena, you cannot SPEND your way out of debt.
You want a SOLUTION??? STOP spending on entitlements and waste that produces NOTHING, CUT Taxes, Grit our teeth, and let the American Entrpreneur and Small-Businessman get us the HELL out of this hole.
But, of course, you prefer to be wet-nursed by the Government than roll up your sleeves and do it yourself...
A cogent and well-reasoned argument. I can see how people would be persuaded to your point of view!
M-J K, Ah! those millions and millions of thugs. Let's get 'em!
Tammy, I can see that the RNP needs you! Do volunteer!
Bill F. Yup. We liberals plan to take all the blame for this one! We're generous that way.
Bye, now. I have to go back to Planet Earth.
Well, Nero, fiddle on--Rome is burning due to LACK of oversight and LACK of solid banking practices, lack of transparency, and lack of involvement--PRIMARILY due to the ostrich mentality you believe in.
Where is doing more of the same the answer to fixing a problem?
Wilka
You must be a comedian.
Where will the Entrepreneur and Small Business men and women get the loans? hmmm?
Certainly not from the banks who were already "bailed" out with our tax dollars, and spent it frivolously.
I am glad to see the Loonie Tunes out in force today.
Shannon; "I saw on the local news last night that the stimulus bill will save or create 37,000 jobs in my state of Iowa"
Most of those jobs will be to contractors that do this stuff already with their own crews. They might hire 10 - 20 people at most. That is not a lot of new jobs, and will not help your state out in the least.
Cena; "This is 100% typical of the so called opposition. NO offer of a different kind of solution, "
Have you paind any attention to any of the oppositiion solutions yet? Or is it as always just easier to say you never heard any?
Sara; "A cogent and well-reasoned argument. I can see how people would be persuaded to your point of view!"
Reasonable suggestions have been ignored for mass stupidity, so why waste our breaths on the likes of you?
Sandy; "Does it hurt to be this stupid? "
I am still waiting for your answer on that. So far the only thing you ever do is follow your group of morons and incite a foul smelling attitude.
Kathy; "Okay, I don't get it. You're saying let the market/ financial systems, etc crash and burn?"
I am at a loss for your misstatement. We support letting the free market repair itself, it always has that ability when we can keep Government idiots out of it.
Debra; "Where will the Entrepreneur and Small Business men and women get the loans? hmmm? "
Why do they need them. Use a reasonable tax break and let them do it on their own.
Erik; "You never know if they might be facing foreclosures, themselves, either!"
Thank s to the Democrats and their Subprime lending, we have a lot crashing now. And now Comrad Obama wants to start Subprime Lending MKII. Yeah smart people who do not learn from their own mistakes.
and how much would that be?
And when exactly has that ever happened? When did the US economy operate as a free market, with no government intervention whatsoever?
Personally, I was disappointed to see the homebuyer credit (introduced by Isakson R-GA)removed from the final plan after it was unanimously approved in the Senate.
I believe the cuts that were made were "pushed for by the Republicans" but the choice on which programs to cut was dictated by the Democrats. Sorry, but it's not coincidental that Specter's amendment was the only one to fully survive the cuts!
Very funny Dan.
Tammy, you know they have to believe anything good comes from the Democrats, because truth would destroy their fantasy.
They dont even know what was in the bill... All that money going to Science and rural classrooms for the internet... How does this create jobs.... ? First, we need to create the jobs, then spend on the luxury items...
Yes you are correct, it is all a scam, and they do not care.
"All that money going to Science and rural classrooms for the interne"
As well as cars, furniture, "Greening the government", none of this will help the economy, it is just spending money we do not have to spend.
It's sad they cut back so much money for the war veterans. I was wondering if we can get Queen Nancy Pelosi to donate the cost of refueling her jet to the veterans. Let's see, $30,000 for one way, $60,000 round trip, every weekend for four years. Don't you think that would be an equitable thing to do?
LOL I see your comment got a reply from Sandy. I do agree with that though. I have been reading the Bill, and see a lot of people will be loosing jobs over it, especially the small IT companies that do work for medical clinics. That is three of my cousins, will loose about 20 customers totaled or more.
Ohh and never mind Sandy. If you disagree with her, your a bad person and she will definately point that out, and if you're a Christian that does not bow down to her way of thinking, she will attack your religion. She is just a very sad and disturbed person.
I feel a limerick coming on...
"LOL I see your comment got a reply from Sandy. I do agree with that though."
I did not mean I agreed with Sandy, I would have to have a brain tumor for that. I meant that I agreed with your statment.
That would sure be a sin
A small IT Co.
Could never make a go
If we change the tech that they deal in
"I sell the best Brandy and Sherry
To make all my customers merry,
But at times their finances
Run short as it chances,
And then I feel very sad, very".
To which MacCraith replied??..
"O?Tuama! You boast yourself handy,
At selling good ale and bright Brandy
But the fact is your liquor
Makes everyone sicker,
I tell you this I your good friend, Andy".
as she stattles every hog,
to deal out profligacy,
and call it precocity
the fact is, truth to tell
that using a verse
instead of a curse
requires you be able to spell
and share your simple perspective
You have to make sense
and not just sound dense
with polysyllabic invective!
Not that it's sporting but boy
A battle of wits
with you unarmed twits?
You're a child with a very small toy.
The solution is to pick another war so we can have more people building the war machines and more soldiers would be needed, and more workers would have jobs and we could all be employed by the government and have low taxes to boot.
The party of fiscal responsibility and small government is a farce or a big lie well told.
They have never balanced a budget for the last 50 years and government has grown esponentially under their governance and majority. They like to give jobs to their political appointees even if not qualified and they like to grow the numbers of defense contractors who will vote for them. Now we have 12% or more of our budget going to government workers and the deficit if you count the Iraq war will be over 3 trillions of borrowed money.
A bill to help this country is a necessity so we may be able to solve the problems the fiscal conservatives war mongers created.
I answered one question about "where in the bible does it say" and suddenly I'm Jerry Falwell. LOL.
Anyway, I do not engage in name calling only facts. This massive spending bill was thrust down our throats by the use of fear mongering by Obama. Now that it has been passed, just watch, the liberal media that helped Obama by spreading the "catastrophe" message, and talked down the economy, will now "talk up" any nuance of improvement and attribute any positive moves to this bill, I guarantee it.
We have a secretary of state, why do we need special envoys?
We have a secretary of the treasury, why do we need special economic advisory panels?
How much money are we expected to waste just to make Barack Obama look good?
Kay, ohhh your going to hell for that last comment, Just ask Sandy and Sara!
But then I guess I am too. LOL
Dan Tompkins; "Sandy Kand her troll buddies sent me a private message when I was having surgery in December saying that I was probably an aids-infested faggot, so she showed her true colors! Gather said i have the option . . "
From what I have seen of Sandy, this does not suprise me one bit. She is pretty ugly spirited. And so are most of her friends, not all (I fail to see how they can be, but they are).
I will not delete comments, but some people are so ugly on this site, and they have all sorts of ways to show it. I am sorry she did that to you.
I find radical leftists very angry, bitter people. They seem to blame their lack of success and happiness on others. Too bad, so sad.
Who ever wrote this to Dan, I am sorry they did that to you, too. I've never seen such hate filled, mean spirited, ignorant, bitter people. They have chased many off of Gather and are proud of it. They have their own little clique because not too many others will accept their behavior. I agree Kay & Snowy Cat, too bad, so sad. (Was that your saying or did Snowy Cat come up with that?) :)
But Cathi, these creeps do give us something to laugh at, don't you agree?
Kay; "Sandy is an atheist"
You know I am not a Christian, and can get along with them very well, and do not attack anyone's belief. I find it so sick that others to make themselves feel better have to attack other people's belief. What is even worse, is there are Christians, including on self claimed preacher that will agree with everything people like Sandy says about their religion... Figure that...
Thanks Charles.
I do agree, but what condition are they going to leave us in again?
Proof is in the pudding, and we are seeing it now.
I could care less who was President as long as they could do the job. We have someone now that has never done a damned thing in his life.
Not really, there is always a "Vote of NonCompetence", and that would get him out of office, but put Biden in, and I don't think he is any better. Obama just picked him because he was less intelligent than Obama is, so no challenge of minds, only no-minds (no mind's land).
As usual, Obama is pacifying the masses by covering himself saying that he's not sure it's going to work, but that doing something is better than doing nothing. I'm not sure that's so, but I'm not sure it isn't either. I hate to be so pessimistic but I just don't think that at this point it's anything but moot.
It is really difficult to believe that anyone would make a comment like the one above. That is truly bottom dwelling.
The thing that disturbs me is that Obama broke another one of his campaign promises on this. He promised not to sign any bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days. He rushed this through in two days with no opportunity for comment. AND, he hasn't even been in office for a month. That is a good preview of what we're in for.
I'm also wondering who his next "Embarrassment" will be ...after Geithner, Richardson, Daschle, Killefer and Gregg. Will it be another tax cheater?
Who that will be, is up in the air...
If the Democrats had not pushed and gotten the subprime lending in 1995, then our banks would not be where they are now. If we had gotten Bush's original tax plan without the pork and adding the big business perks the Democrats added through their fillibustering, we would not be where we are now. If we had cut back the socialist programs (both parties here) we would not be where we are now. About 45-55% of the problem has come from the Democrats intervention, but 100% from the Government intervention; meaning actions from both sides Republican and Democrat/Republican joint action.
One cannot place the blame on any one group, but in many ways they both helped this situation. Even when the Democrats did what they did to hurt the Country, it was because the Republicans did not work together enough to block it, or at least regulate it, thus making it as much their problem as the Democrats.
So now I do agree what we are left with, is not going to be easy to fix, but what Obama and the Democrts have pushed through, will only hurt us more.
Of course, Leftists will say NOTHING about that...if it has a (D) behind the word "War," it's a GOOD War...
Thank you Cathi.
AND IT WORKED....
We had a solution.... he did it....
AND IT WORKED....
without throwing our grandkids and great grandkids money at the "problem"
oh wait... I forgot it's not a problem, it's a "crisis."
Ohhh wait, its facts, and Liberals, they don't mix that is right. Sorry about that Bryan, I forgot because you're a liberal, you have issues with reality.
One of the reasons the Republicans and 7 Democrats voted against it, was the removal of reading time. This Bill was pushed through by the Democrats, reducing anyone's time to read it. But from what I understand the little the opposers got to read of it, they saw a pattern they did not like, the number of earmarks, and not enough stimulus.
Thank you Charles.
