I know a lot of people think Bush screwed the Nation up. I don't think he did but I feel he did what he had to do and made some hard decisions whether they be good or bad he had to make them. We now have a new President no matter who did or didn't vote for him and we will see here shortly if it was a good or bad decision. No matter what God is in control and nothing happens under the sun that he can't change. God continue to Bless America

Katrena...we will not see 'shortly'. It will take a lot of time and very hard work and cooperation to turn things around. And every American needs to be part of the solution..not standing on the sidelines, viewing. Make a pledge today to get involved - tutoring children, volunteering in community projects and causes, committing to a more energy-efficient lifestyle & making the necessary changes, voting in representatives who stand for all the things President Obama spoke about and has been speaking about. It will take ALL of us, not just the President.

The easy part is now officially over. Now comes the hard part. Now we have to endure. Now we have to be tolerant. Now we have to take care of needy strangers because we may soon be the needy ones. There will be long days ahead when it will appear that things will never be right again. We must keep our hope. We must keep trying. We must strive when things look hopeless. We must remember that we have only failed when we stop trying.

I pray that God gives him wisdom, that he remembers that he's serving ALL the people, and that he follows the Constitution.

Us expats here in Costa Rica had a really nice inauguration party at our apartment complex and we all thought that President Obama's speech was very inspiring.

Finally! I am so very excited.

I know he will be so great; please give him enough time (and pray for his and his family safety) to do it!

I disagree Kevin. Unless you are currently serving like myself and others, you have no idea of the good "W" has had with the military. I am willing to give obama his due and my respect. You should do the same.

Expectations are very high; I'm afraid many will be disappointed because no one could measure up to those expectations. The reality of governing is far different from the hopes and rhetoric of the campaign. Obama was not my choice but I hope with all my heart he is successful in leading the nation.

I am so happy with Obama as president. I will admit that I was a Hillary supporter at first, but she will be great as SoS. Obama is inspirational in so many ways. He is a man who knows how to express himself eloquently and passionately. I think that will help in the road to rebuilding international ties. Not to mention his international popularity!! The residents of this great country should appreciate that the world was watching as we inaugurated Obama; this shows how important our country is to the rest of the world. They have dealt with the last eight years with us. Aspects of our daily business, such as our economy, our foreign aid policies, and our wars affect the rest of the world. We are a powerful nation; we need to accept the good with the bad and step up to taking responsibility. Not many countries on earth have what we have. Yes, we have problems; every country does. But in our country, as we have seen, opportunity does exist. You just got to man up and grab it. Sometimes, it takes unimaginable work, but we're Americans and that is what we do. We pioneer, we invent, and we explore. We need to start exploring green energy sources, new economic solutions, and better diplomatic ties with nations of all types. We need to set aside old hostilities and do exactly what Obama says-make government more accountable and more open. It should not have to take a brave whistleblower to reveal the problems in corporations and in government. Greed is a nasty aspect of human nature; people hate to admit it, but it is the truth and it needs to be acknowledged. Corporations need to be regulated because not only do they waste their resources on million dollar corporate entertainment events, and pay billion dollar CEO salaries when companies are failing, but they waste American bailout funds on the same frivolities. Regulations need to be in place to prevent this. This won't limit our free market enterprise, it will protect it from unscrupulous, greedy CEOs and businessmen. The economy affects us all and sometimes it needs guidance....no one is saying to make it a public affair...but we need to see to the continued growth of our capitalist system. If our economy is prosperous, we can focus on the other pressing problems in our nation and in the world. I truly hope Obama means it when he says this is the "new era of responsibility," as our country's survival as The Land of Opportunity depends on it.

I have not started calling him president, in fact I avoid it if I can I just call him Obama.
