Is reality sinking in yet? Oppps seems like many that helped Obama, are now screaming at him, and he is not even in Office yet.
***********************************************************
The people in his campaign have learned it, the people in his soon to be completed cabinet are learning it, and pretty soon the people who voted for him will learn it well: President-elect Barack Obama will be forced to begin saying things he's not used to. And while he won't have the surging throngs that have already forgotten most of what he promised, I still wonder what the long term impact will be on the people he promised full gas tanks and pre-paid mortgages to.
The process started really simple this week. People who had logged thousands of hours going door to door, driving people to the polls on election day, blistering the byways with last minute yard signs, and, in Philadelphia standing shoulder to shoulder to prevent Republicans from voting suddenly got a taste of the hope and change Obama had long since promised--he didn't have money to pay them for their work. Not surprisingly some of these thugs, er "campaign workers" took to shaking down the local offices. Not "Jesse-style" either--I mean actually shaking the office buildings.
Several hundred disenfranchised Obama campaign staff took to protesting right outside the doors of the local Obama office in Indianapolis. Some shrieked and screamed at the media, "I want my money today! It's my money. I want it right now!" Some of the 375 unpaid staffers were offered a $30 pre-paid Visa. (Word to Mr. President Elect, don't ever, ever, EVER promise fly credit and then walk, it's just not square homie.)
Just imagine how devastated that girl from the famous YouTube clip is. The one where she says she won't have to worry about putting gas in her car, or paying her mortgage, because if she helps him, he's gonna help her! (But I thought the bailout meant we don't have to pay for it anymore...)
No, Barack Obama made such outlandish promises on the campaign trail that buyer's remorse is going to set in soon. In fact, it may already have.
"Comedian" (and I do use the term loosely) Patrice O'Neal dialed the John Gibson show on Friday night to explain that Obama's election was nothing more than a propped up mechanism to falsely relieve "white guilt" over the idea that all white people are racist, and that they've now elected an "acceptable black man" so as to believe that America is now a post-racial nation. O'Neal went on to decry that Obama can't and never will be able to get "black America" to forgive "white America."
Man I'm glad that Obama's supporters took all that "one America" stuff to heart!
But if Obama can't make headway on a "chicken in every pot" or digesting most of Reverend Wright's racism left overs, he'll at least bring the troops home... right?
Have you noticed how since he's been getting his daily security briefings that the discussion of bringing the troops home completely disappeared from his public speech? It's also bankable that since he's begun to see the high-level advanced intelligence on what our enemies are doing abroad, he's regularly having to censor himself in private so as to not let all the profanity he knows be uttered in shock at what we're actually facing in the war on terror.
I know, very surprising coming from a man who believes that giving Americans basic Constitutional rights at birth is above his pay grade.
Look, Obama isn't even sure if redefining the word marriage is the right or wrong thing to do. Thankfully his supporters seem equally confused as at least 1.6 million of them in California, and perhaps even more than that in Florida voted to define marriage as it has always been defined.
Then there's his promise to give tax credits to everyone making under $250,000 (strike that), $200,000, (oops) $150,000 (uh...), $120,000 (shoot), $70,000... ah heck, he voted to raise taxes on everyone making $42,000 or more in annual income.
This week he held his first press conference, realized how big the economic challenges are, and began thinking, "is a tax increase really all that good of an idea?" He got so distracted by the thought that he wrongfully accused Nancy Reagan of speaking to deceased presidents, when in fact it was actually Hillary Clinton that had come closest to doing so. Mortified, he had to dial Mrs. Reagan up and express his apologies.
Being unable to deliver on his promises will amount to some pretty supreme disappointment. Of course, only those who keep up to date with what actually happens will know any of this. And by staying up to date we don't mean watching Katie Couric, BET, or MSNBC at night.
His advocation of yet one more huge bailout (the auto industry in Michigan) is unwise and he should forego even the thought of it. The auto industry is actually thriving in a number of other areas across the country. Perhaps Michigan's punitive tax codes should be examined as to what might make the region more productive.
The key to campaigns is sort of similar to the keys to relationships, "Under promise, then over deliver."
Obama's problem is that he could not have set himself up worse for the under/over equation.
"Yes we can!" may have been the flying, rainbow-excreting-unicorn promise of a political virgin, but starting on January 20, many will see Obama be forced to admit something he's not had to say in 24 months: "Um... well... uh... No we can't!"

So now, he cannot even manage his funds to pay his staff and supporters, how is he going to manage anything else?

lowered the bar AGAIN on who will get taxed
was in over his head before he every got started.
The toughest aspect of this? I believe he already KNEW of his own Lies and chicanery. Now, it's payback time to "Kos," "Media Matters-not," and the rest of the radical Leftists who bought him...and he's destined to lose a HOST of "friends"...
I read his wife's thesis that her papers were FINALLY posted, she sounds pretty stupid for a Master Degree. She writes like a 16 year old kids just write better hers.
I guess stuppity in his and hers family I guess runs in the DNA.
I would never forsake my Country
I would never buy an election (Like Democrats)
I would never convince that I am the Christ and tell them that I can turn water into Morgan-David wine and make their eys see.....
I would never prey upon the pity ignorant people have nothing else in the world except pride.......
I would never accept a truck load of "Bull Shit".
20 If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
21 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ[a]!' or, 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it.
22 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible.
Understand I am not a religous man, but I am not a stupid man either.
What does Obama sound like?
You talk about religion, I said I'm not a religious person, but I DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE. Obama talk about crap all the time. Really watch all of his speeches and hope you recorded them, because one day his RHETORIC speeches will come back to bite him in the ass.
"Robert what foolish religious rhetoric, no one ever said he was anything other than a man, but you continued disgusting onslaught only speaks to your character and the kind of man you are!"

I accept all of your comments toward me, I think you are way wrong, but I do accept as it takes. Good night
I am not a race racist, but I do have an extremely low tolerance of "hardheaded" or "stupid" people who act like they want to be something else.
SORRY
I do have posative things to say, I have just sworn to fight this Communist President with every word of truth I can. I know for people like you, Truth, is a hard concept to understand, because for you and your ilk, truth HAS TO FIT YOUR IDEAS. Truth is not always whatr we want, but it is what we need to follow.
Truth is, we have a Communist President, truth is he is a danger to this country, truth is most of you refused to look up the facts and face them.
I am not a republican, nor a Concervative, I am a Moderate in the full sence of the name, in that I make my choices based on the truth at hand, not someone's precieved truth.

This statement goes deep! You talk so much about people supporting Bush....after the Iraq war. Bull shit! The Democrats and some wingnuts from Canada, started this crap enthusiasts about claiming that 9/11 attack was behind it. Bush had them fly into the Towers and kill all those people. Where in the hell can someone logical idiot figure out that Osama Bin Laden actually did that. The professional people went through all of the stuff, but the truth was really put out to everyone. The attack was investigates from the 9/11 Commission came to the same facts. So how can that half of Commission them were Democratic, so why did they say differently? Is our glass half full or is it full half???? These people were much smarter than me, but however, I watched the attacks as they actually happened on the TV, but my eyes do see it all.
The Democrats started again after the Katrina storm. They say Bush's fault. I guess he must have a secret power that I know. The facts are this; my eyes watched during this problem, but then I saw all of these people that lived in New Orleans was dead because of George Bush? If the people had more than time told to evacuate, but they stayed there, and yet they died, so what is wrong about their problem? Their Governor and local Mayor had the opportunity who had the means to use the busses that I saw finally under the water, Mayor Nagin failed. He did nothing! He killed the people, and actually killed themselves. I don't mean it to sound bad about them, but why is the Government all of a problem. The facts that when I had my degree in Homeland Security, it said that when youet up the collect points, the first ones are supposed to be the State and Local authorities first on the site. The Government is supposed to be the last service.
Now, if you want to worry about the survivors who got their tax payers money give it out for Debit Cards because they said we needed them for so much. Where did it go? A lot of them buy Sex Videos, 2-3 hundred purses, shoes (expensive), Casino trips, and this could go and on.
I watched TV while it was goin on and watched all of these people stand around, if they weren't stealing at the time, but were talking on cell phones, smoking cigarettes, and what else ever. They were up to their knees in trash on the street, but could they at least pick up some of their own trash and pick up some of the bacteria in it!
They didn't want to do anything except only whine and complain because somebody has to do their stuff. By the way, we (taxpayer) paid for Carnival or Disney crew ships for them to live in, but they wouldn't use it, our money was just blown.
So why is every problem is the fault of George Bush. If it had been Clinton, with the same situation would have never been said, not a word.
So, if the shoe fits, so be it! If you want to hear the real truth? I doubt it, but if Clinton had killed Osama Bin Laden when he really coudl've and didn't, maybe 9/11 attack wouldn't have been bin Laden's money. Think about it, use a brain for once.

As people all know the Katrina disaster involve majority of blacks left behind, and to blame them for the slow poor response and debacle by the government and Fema after the disaster is just ludricrous! The response was simply irresponsible and ridiculous and you know it!
My photo is next to my post, and for your information I was southern born and raised in the Central Louisiana slap dead in the South! I have no reason to hide, only proving once more you base your facts on personal assumptions!
Sorry, I simple call it as I see it! Furthermore, the only truth you speak is from your own narrow view, but this doesn't mean in the least that it is factual and if you do not like others opinions than suggest keep your rhetoric to yourself!
Concerning your low tolerance for hard headed stupid people, you must not can bare to stay in same room with yourself or old Dan R. for that matter....
Have a nice day!
There was enough time for those people to have escaped, and the State and city government refused enternce of aid help, that had nothing to do the the Federal government. Also the defense of those people was up to the State, and Bush supplied them with more money than the last five Presidents have to do that. As of 1964, the US Government was only to supply the money for storm defense, and the State was to use the money correctly. The State used the money for other purposes instead of what it was marked for. That makes it the fault of the State and City Governments and not the Federal Government. Also Louisiana did not get the center of the storm, but the edge, and was the worst damaged because they mis-spent the money.
Dan, it matters not what happen before the storm, only thing that was important is what occurred after the damage, whatever the state did or didn't do was not the fault of the people that were trapped. Do you not get it! American people died and suffered because of the absolute poor handling and response to this disaster.
Well boys it has been fun, but got more important things to take care of! But do not despair, I will be sure to visit, and drop you a line every now and than!
Well sleep tight, and don't let those big bad terrorist get you tonight!
ut hey, we understand. Only the left can be right, even if wrong they still have to be right. It is only everyone else that can be wrong.
Mugg Muggles, "The Man With the Jive", Nov 10, 2008, 2:26am EST
Hey Muggs, good point, I went abck to see waht you said, I was wrong, I should have said ALL ofthe things.
Thanks good call.
Lady, I have never been more serious in my life. I make numerous jokes all the time; I sometimes just make comments that I know it will ruffle someone’s feathers, and I have a lot of fun at times.
This is one of the serious times of my life. I truly am not a racist like to constantly read you say that. It doesn’t really bother me when you say it, but if you saw the world seen through my eyes, you possibly could really be wrong.
You talked about my thoughts concerning the people during the Katrina Storm, if you would actually look at all the situations that the News Cable would show one thing in their favor, or show someone else who was at fault. As I saw it, I stated that these people were standing there and could only bitch about something. They were there because they chose to be there; I didn’t put them there nor placed them by George Bush.
I have to tell you, if the habitants lived there during the same time while Bill Clinton would not have been any better than the Bush Administration had. Brown, FEEMA idiot, Bush’s guy true, but still all of these mistakes happened after the calamity, it was simply a vengeance from Nature Call. Bush didn’t conjure up this storm, but the primary responsibility would be Mayor Nagel for the call. He screwed it all up, not the Federal Government, then again, it goes to Local to State, and then the Federal Governments.
I was born in raised in Florida; we had plenty hurricanes there, but we were a poor family, but we did manage to get the hell out of the kitchen.
If you look at things from a different perspective, you might notice that if you live in a bowl in the middle of the ocean, something has should be smart enough if this bowl cracks, oh shit! I’m outta here. If I had to look up to see the horizon, something just ain’t wrong here. I might not have a Master’s Degree, I will at least this crap out. Don’t tell me that you ever blow sand up my butt and try to tell me on a mountain. I would never buy that.
The last thing concerning New Orleans and Katrina, you reflect that I only refer all black people here. Well that’s what I saw on the screen, I did a few white people there, but then again, they stood out like a turd in a punch bowl. So much for that.
Now Obama, it’s not his “Blackness” is what turns me off, he was his rhetoric and to me just talks & talks, but it still turns into a lie. You cannot see it, I understand you want so bad that he is so great, but if you ever would probably admit that he was wrong because you are the ones who put him there.
I read all of the stuff that you referred to about the Geneva Convention, not just you, but a lot of you guys too. If everyone, like I said, too many people are just plain, lazy. If you can write or read any comments, then I have to assume that you have a computer with the internet. Use “Google” or anything and look for yourself. I see a lot of people who will write it only the way it is construed however it could come out how they want it to be that way. If someone only take my words for it, check it out, and see for yourself, and make up your own decisions.
I was told last night concerning the Geneva Convention, and the United States Constitution about wars and etc. What do some things have to do with the facts? When the Geneva Conventions came from The Hague Convention eventually became the Geneva Conventions, two times as amended. If you read it under the provisions under the articles prisoners and or POW’s and how they are treated humanely, and as far as it goes GITMO, these terrorists are being according to those provisions.
I could not care what all of these ACLU lawyers and Liberal politicians, and in some cases I also lump John McCain in that same pile. It states clearly that unusual treatment and or punishment. It does NOT specify what the term means. This phrase could be called whatever you want to say it. Your mind fill fill in the blanks.
“Water Boarding” has never reflected as a torture. Sleep deprivation is not reflected. Loud sound music is not referred to. As a matter of fact, then if I want to look at this, RAP so-called music, is totally torture for me, so how come can people play that crap, but I don’t like it.
Should any doubt arise as to whether persons, having committed a belligerent act and having fallen into the hands of the enemy, belong to any of the categories enumerated in Article 4, such persons shall enjoy the protection of the present Convention until such time as their status has been determined by a competent tribunal.
Where in the hell does this pact show any Habeas Corpus reference that gives anyone other than tribunals? If you know of that, please show me; don’t just tell me things without basis. I have to let you know, I don’t know every word in that pact, but every soldier has a requirement has to have an understanding of the provisions. We ALL know these things.
I know this is way too long, but I apologize for the length, but I can only say what I can say for the whole picture. I agree, bytes sound is way too short to complete the whole story, but that is what I get, only what I get.
Thank you again for the comments, not offended at all, because I know what is in my head and that’s only what I need.
The United Nations' Report of the Committee Against Torture: Thirty-fifth Session of November 2006, stated that state parties should rescind any interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding, that constitutes torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.
Waterboarding defined here;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterboarding#Controversy_over_classification_as_torture_in_the_United_States
Robert, no one can have it both ways you!
Anyone, who would read the definition of waterboarding, would have to know it is vile! I thought you stated you think for yourself, but from your post, I see this is not true. And If you want to play with words to convince yourself it is O.K. that is on you. That doesn't make it any less inhumane!
Please read, what our military men believed that had suffered this fate under the hands of past captures, it was not pretty. The United States ruled Japanese offenders as war crimimals after World War II, because of the use of waterboarding and other vile acts on our men.
So, as I said we can't have it both ways!
Furthermore my last few responses was concerning the statement you made;
"Water Boarding” has never reflected as a torture. Sleep deprivation is not reflected. Loud sound music is not referred to. As a matter of fact, then if I want to look at this, RAP so-called music, is totally torture for me, so how come can people play that crap, but I don’t like it.
This statement is misleading, the whole world condemned Bush and stated this act was inhumane, and just because Bush used it, and after used his veto to cover his own.... simply doesn't make it any less wrong.
I was raised with fifteen siblings by an alone father! My father, a Marine Sergeant served in World War II, which was highly decorated for his bravery. He was taken P.O.W in Japan and he was tortured unbearably. After his return, he worked hard and instilled many wonderful values in all of his children, but empty headed or stupid was not one of them!
