They can say whatever most hateful thing they want and if you censor it, they'll be down your throat for violating the 1st amendment, but you add one letter to a word, and they go ballistic! It's not my fault if they see Democrats as Demoncrats. Did I ever say such a thing? Funny how they do associate themselves, though.

A bit on the incendiary side, to be sure. But actually both major parties represent little difference from the same corporate-government rule. It's basically like a group of international elites figures out which candidates it wants to support, and then they bankroll and cultivate them. Those groups include the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderbergers, Bohemian Grove, etc. And the voting machines are totally fraudulent -- remember when the Diebold guy promised a victory for Bush? The solution is to seek out alternative media, like Alex Jones (I never miss his Sunday afternoon show on GCNLive.com). We need to not fall into the temptation to fight with each other and divide each other into groups, because that's just what the elites want. Join together to oppose government policies and restore freedom!
That would have to be a full time, paid position, I'm afraid, Berf.
You said it, Vis. Glad you showed up because only you and the Colonel would be able to empathize with my feelings about the news I found out yesterday. The only Independent on the ballot in my state is Nader. I can't even vote for Barr or Baldwin, let alone Paul. I am so bummed.
I wouldn't flag for hate speech. It's just part of the lies and shitslinging that goes on in politics. I'll bet John McCain approved it too.

Actually, I remembered that I have been flagged for "Hate Speech", though it was called "Harassment or Hate Speech" at the time. I wrote an article titled 'A Game: Taunt the Christian' . . . wherein I wrote what was sort of a parody of some of the things people do in this regard, but made it just plausible enough, that several of the resident Christian bashers totally bit, and thought I was serious. I got high praise and agreement for awhile, and just didn't know what to do. After a time, some folks showed up and indicated subtly that they knew what was going on, but didn't "spill the beans", so to speak.

Eventually I felt compelled to explain, especially because a few Christians commented on what a jerk I was . . . Things got very good after that, with some excellent straightening out and much praise for what I had revealed.

But, someone flagged it finally, and it is only accessible by me now (says the notice from "Gather editorial team") for it is in violation of TOS. It is bizarre that they ended up zapping an article which brought the reality of "hate speech" against Christians to light, and I'm wondering if I oughtn't request the thing be allowed back "on air", so to speak. It really was an "eye opener" in many ways.

(Lori appears on the thread, though not as a "guilty party" . . . ; )

Did Gather give any reason for not allowing it back, or what exactly was it that was against TOS? You said it was a parody. Yes, you really should request it allowed reposted. I'm sure that you can find dozens of worse things that are here to support your case, if need be, not that you would probably go that far, would you? I would love to see it. I hope you give it an attempt.

Gather is like some kind of a crazy school where all the grade levels are mixed together in one classroom.
Two 11th-graders will be trying to have an adult conversation and, suddenly, a bunch of first and second graders will show up and start throwing rocks at them and sticking their tongues out.
Unfortunately, it also seems to be a classroom where the teacher in charge is either out of the room most of the time or not even in the building at all.

I will think about this awhile . . . It seemed to me that if they read the thread, it would be obvious that the only folks in any way "damaged" by it all, were the "Hate Speechers" . . . and I suspect that this is why they placed it in isolation. Essentially warning me not to expose hate speech against Christians . . .

I could copy it, and e-mail it to you, and you would perhaps understand better what may be going on . . . it really exposed some crap.
Please email it, John. Will give me something besides the stale old newspaper to read with my coffee in the AM. (Can you copy and paste the comments too?)

Sue at least you got the Hate Speech flag and not the Other flag...I never have figured out what you would consider Other as a reason to flag.
It's easy if you just C&P onto notebook, and then copy into the email text. I can always copy it into a word doc if it's too smashed up.

I've flagged MLM as Other, Lori. There used to be a lot of them in the early morning hours, people who just joined to promote their wares. I don't see them much anymore, but I'm also not here that early anymore either.

Wilma about a year or so ago they changed how the flagged articles showed up...before all the feed and other upgrades.

If someone flagged your thread it wouldnt show up...you had to really look for it. Your comments wouldnt even show up on your comments page...so flagging back then was really a form of censorship,...it has gotten better.

I guess what I am saying is, in the minds of some people, the "Other" category means "I just don't like it."
They read the article, decide they don't like what it says, and then see the word "Other" as a legitimate reason to flag an article simply because they don't like it.
Oh, I thought it was still like that unless you had already commented and had saved the link, Lori. I didn't realize they had relaxed the gag.
Yeah, well, I kind of thought that's what you meant, Berf, but it's never a wasted exercise to double, triple and quadruple what you meant, just in case, as long as you have the patience for it. Thanks for clarifying! :)
