A pastor from South Carolina has been sentenced to three years in jail in Russia for being caught carrying in his luggage a carton of rifle cartridges for a Russian pastor he planning on visiting when he landed in Moscow. A link to the full article is posted below.
The Russian pastor has asked the American pastor to bring him some of the cartridges for his hunting rifle. Evidently the ammunition was difficult for the Russian pastor to obtain. The American did not know that it was illegal to bring ammunition into Russia without a permit, but ignorance of the law is no excuse in any country.
The question is: if an Islamic cleric has been caught with the same ammunition in his luggage as he arrived at JFK, how long would it be before he was being water-boarded at Gitmo?
