Personally, I think a big chunk of these wide-Left causes (Global Warming, PETA, gay rights, etc., etc.) just lack legitimacy. Unfortunately, the folks pushing these causes don't know that. They fervently think America gives a damn. That's why they're so funny to watch. Talk about people who are the last to know.........
I'm curious what the Left Wingers on Gather have to say about this underfunding phenomenon.

If there are so many Liberals, then why can't they hold onto a buck? Why don't they support their own causes? Why do they look to the government for financial legitimacy? That's a recipe for failure.

Don't play the patriot card either....NO PROOF of any terrorist attacks has ever been presented regarding 9/11. No investigation, no trials, nothings but bullcrap fed to the media.....9/11 was the biggest hoax ever pulled off since Vietnam.....Absolutely ZERO proof was provided on the 9/11 attacks!!! It was trial by mainstream media bullshit!!!
Gay rights and gay causes have come a long way..............but the causes attached to them are still seriously underfunded. Hey, you've been out in front of the Thompson Center on a Saturday morning - I'm sure you've seen the gay rights folks camped out there. They scream and whine and protest................and everyone just passes on by with hardly a glance - and that's in Chicago, one of the most Liberal, sympathetic cities for gay rights in the world.
Could it be "donation fatigue"? Or could it be that the GLBT agenda is not in tune with the other 90% or so of the population?
I know you're a Conservative............and so am I. I just happen to like our defense spending. I would rather we not be forced to spend so much on it, but I don't see much of an alternative, since the rest of the world seems leaderless. Face it - we're the pinnacle of civilization right now. Every other country is happy to just be mediocre. We're not.
Like you, I wish we could get a truly Conservative President into the White House. Someone like Eisenhower - you never heard much from him, he didn't grandstand, he took care of business, and he wasn't intimidated by anyone. A leader like that would be incredible today.
