And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. (Gen 2:18)
God's final touch in the garden was woman; she was his last act before Sabbath rest. Could it be she was his first act too? Did God form the Goddess from within himself as he formed woman from the inside of Adam? Was she there when he said light be? I know what we've been taught, and I can hear the mutterings of heretic, Still, I ask can the Goddess be found in canonized scripture?
Again, I know what traditional teaching is; I've been told repeatedly that the Church is the embodiment of Goddess; I submit that the Church is a personality of the Goddess. And, I hear some of ya'll twisting again, but hang with me here. Then, if I got it all messed up, please show me where. Anyway, God has three personalities; only one of those personalities having a bride is illogical and difficult to reconcile with Genesis 1:26, 27,
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Matthew 6:10b
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
and Proverbs 8:22 - 30.
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
Do the Gospels themselves speak of her? Did the apostles know her name? Luke hints that perhaps they did. We've been taught that when Mary, mother of Jesus, conceived the Holy Spirit came upon her and overshadowed her, signifying action by one personality of God. Am I right? That is not what the Bible says. Luke 1:35 reads:
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
That sounds like two distinct personalities in action to me. Does it sound like two to you also? And if so...well... back to Matthew 6:10.
Am I making any sense here ya'll or do I have my line upon line all twisted up?

You'll get no opposition from me. The Gender of god is the issue. Does God even have an gender? Likely no. But to keep God personal, we need a pronoun. He or she. Mother or Father. How about just parent? Ok too impersonal. I normally say both. God is masculine and feminine. Mother and Father. Penis and vagina. And, alas, we are created in God's image. We are both masculine and feminine. Balanced at some point. My anatomy is male. But I certainly have a feminine side. Of which I should not be ashamed. Macho is silly. As is sissy behavior.
Thinking about God is tricky. We want god to be creator. But just recently, OK in the last 50-100 years, we have learned just how large creation is. We are on an insignificant planet near an insignificant star, which is part of in insignificant solar system. We want to believe in one god, not a local one for just our planet. And what does that do to Jesus? Would he be our local God? Like the local gods of yore. Our god's better than your God. God is on our side.
No. God is the creator. God has two jobs: creation and redemption. We are happiest when we do god's work, when we participation in creation and redemption. Just how? Well to discern that takes meditation of some sort. Listening in silence. God most likely will use your own voice, which is not so scary, but pay attention to the content. You will find the way. You can get to a state of happiness. You can create an instance of the reign of God by blooming where you are planted. All this blooming and creating is clearly feminine. And count me in for that stuff. We are all in if we want to be. God needs us to do his and her work. Just listen to get your orders, commands, instructions, suggestions. Just listen and rise from your silence edified. And just do it. the happiness will come.
Cheers
Jim
