This sounds like a great salad for when the warm weather returns.
When I make a salad, I really try for layers of flavors. For example, I would use a trimmed sirloin and marinate it. Most of the time I use the vinaigrette that will be served over the top of the salad as the marinade. For more flavor, I would grill the steak rather than pan frying it.
I would also add crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola. If I used cranberries, I would use a cranberry vinaigrette and if I used dried cherries, I would use a cherry or raspberry vinaigrette.
I wouldn't put tomato on this, I don't think it goes well. Maybe some red onion would be nice, instead.
