A Recipe a Day- World's Best Lasagna

This recipe has almost 2000 reviews and is still rated 5 of 5 stars. After reviewing it, I can see why. It sounds incredible.

I really don't see anything to change, other than maybe a few shortcuts so it isn't quite so labor intensive. You could simmer the sauce for less time and soak the noodles instead of cooking them for instance.

This one is bookmarked for the next time I make lasagna. Lasagna freezes extremely well so after dinner and lunch the next day, I would freeze this in individual portions.

I'd probably skip the fennel and basil (since I don't have any) and eliminate the sugar. I'd use a 24 ounce jar of sauce instead of two smaller cans. I'd also cut the ricotta in half and double the mozzarella. Too bad it's so much work to begin with or I might even make it. (I still have to pick up my free Stouffers family size lasagna I got a coupon for. That's even easier than making this.)

Rob, it is a lot of work, for sure. And I wondered about the fennel too. Would it be an overpowering taste of sausage if I added it?

This does sound good ... I might make it to freeze for the holidays ... always nice to have something special to pull out when I don't feel like cooking ...

Okay. I don't know what fennel is anyway, and have never made a good lasagna, so I will try and hope for the best and leave off the fennel.
