This recipe sounds incredible!
I would definitely follow the poster's advice about leaving the rub on overnight. And the only change I would make is to use a homemade bbq sauce rather than prepared. I've never found a store bought one that I really like.

I always dread buying tickets for fund raisers that sell bbq plates (if it's for a good cause). I know the sauce is going to be the cheapest brand they can find. I eat it, but........ I don't enjoy it very much.
Katrina, I picked up a great cookbook this summer where I learned about using rubs properly. I guess you have to really rub it on the meat's surface. I never knew that. My bbq just keeps getting better and better, so it must be good advice :)
That is always preferable, Rob, but slow cooked bbq is SO tender!
