If You Write and Have Medical Issues, Take a Look
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Today I discovered a site - You & Me - that is looking for personal medical stories. To contribute, you don't have to be a medical professional or a professional writer. If you have a medical story and can string words together, you might want to check this out.
From Craigslist.org:
We pay 3 cents to 10 cents per word for limited electronic rights. Reprints OK if you own the rights. Payment on acceptance. Visit the website and read a few of the articles to get an idea of what we are looking for. You do NOT have to be a published or "professional" writer to submit, but we have found that if you are not an experienced writer it is best that you try and write your experience piece before querying us.
You won't get rich writing your personal medical story, but it could help pay for groceries. 1000 words at 3 cents per word is $30. At 10 cents per word, that's $100. It might be worth checking out.
Click on the link above, then explore the ezine. There's a tab on the page for submissions.
