Grocery Shopping 11/2/09 (Kroger Mega Event) Saved 86%, Spent $9.79

I was actually looking up something else and ran across a list for the mega sale at our Dillon's (Kroger)  I had bought a few things last week and hadn't planned on more.  I got to reading and knew I MUST shop!

The deal is to buy 10 of the specially marked items and receive an additional $5 off your shopping.  You are allowed to do this 3 times in one transaction.  I did it twice buying 20 items (plus a few others with coupons)

I got:

2-I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, on sale for $1.67, making them $1.17 after deal.  I used 2-.75 coupons making them just .17 each!

3-Snuggle fabric softner on sale for $3.99 each, $3.49 after deal.  I used 3-$3 coupons making them just .49 each!

6-Betty Crocker potatoes on sale for $1.49, .99 after the deal.  I used 3-.40 coupons so just .19 for those 3 boxes, and 3-.25 coupons making those boxes .49 each.  I also go an additional .40 off by loading a coupon to my plus card at shortcuts.com

6-Carnation Evaporated Milk, on sale for $1.29, .79 after the deal.  I used 3-.50/2 coupons making them .29 each

Activia on sale for $1.99, $1.49 after the deal, used $1 coupon making it just .49

Dan Active on sale for $1.99, $1.49 after the deal, used $1 coupon making it just .49

Tylenol Extra Strength 24 count on sale for $3.00, $2.50 after the deal.  I used a $2 coupon making it just .50!

Other items purchased:

Pop Tarts Blueberry Muffin flavor, free with coupon

2-RoTel, .97 regular price but I used 2-.50 coupons so they were free.

2- Bar S Jumbo Franks on sale for $1, used $1/2 coupon so .50 each.

I seen the total before coupons was $48.11.  In the end I paid just $9.79 and $2.12 of that was sales tax.

My receipt shows that I saved 86%, which is between the sale prices and coupons in total.  I used a total of $27.27 in manufacturers coupons (remember my store doubles up to a value of $1)  plus the extra $10 off.

I got 25 items at an average of just over .39 each!!

WOO HOO!!!!  I'm one happy camper with this trip!!

I picked up my granddaughter from Headstart and went in to ask if they still have the box of coupon inserts somewhere.  She gave me a HUGE stack of inserts telling me to just take them all, that the parents aren't interested in them.  I need to get busy cutting and filing.  :)
