Still working with those 2 hot dogs?
Well, if you go out and buy a pack of hot dogs so every one can have one or two, you can make a nice dinner.
First of all, let's learn how to cook those hot dogs. Contrary to popular belief, hot dogs are already cooked, so they need only to be heated through. One way to cook the hot dog is by boiling. Bring a pan of water to a boil, add hot dogs, bring back to boil and cook only til hot through. When removing them from the water, use tongs. Many people stick them with a fork and that releases the juice and causes the hot dog to become much drier. They don't call them 'tube steaks' for nothing.
Another method is by frying. Simply lay them in a skillet and heat through. Never cut or pierce the hot dog before or during cooking. Use tongs to remove from the skillet. No tongs? then use 2 spoons together as tongs to retrieve them.
Then another method is to grill them. Again only heating them through, and removing with tongs.
The last method is one I do not like and that is by microwaving just long enough to heat the middle.
Along with the hot dogs serve mashed potatoes and saurkraut. If you want you can illiminate a pan, but putting the hot dogs in with the saurkraut. This gives the saurkraut and the hot dog a nice flavor.
When I dip up dinner for Mike, the hot dogs go one place, the mashed potatoes another, and the saurkraut in a small dish. I dip my mashed potatoes first and everything else goes on top.
I think I'm getting hungry. It's been a long time since I prepared this meal.

LaRue, what exactly do you mean by "dip" here? I'm thinking that you're referring to spooning the ingredients onto the plate in layers, first the mashed potatoes, then the kraut, then the dogs on top. Am I getting the right picture?
And thank you for the "how to cook a hotdog" round up. Good stuff for Frugal Eats.
