Weekly ~~ART THEMES~~ for ALL of 2009 for the Drawing Challenge Art Theme of the Week Group

Can you believe it?  It's a new year and time for the art themes for 2009!  Last year seemed to zoom right along and its been a full year since I started the Drawing Challenge Art Theme of the Week Group.  I believe that our first year was a lot of fun and I sincerely hope that other group members feel the same way! I am hoping for more of the same kind of artistic fun in 2009!

But on to the details for this years art themes:  Each challenge runs from Sunday to Saturday so you have the week to submit your original drawings to the group (I just mean that it has to be your own artwork).  Any medium is acceptable [EXCEPT photography], as long as it is your own drawing, painting, charcoal, crayon scribbles, etc.

Winners will be chosen each week for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places plus Honorable Mention.  Your winning artwork will be featured in a group article and a hearty and sincere congratulations will be given to each winner.  Each winner also receives full bragging rights as well!  :-)   I'm sorry but no actual prizes will be awarded.  :-( The winners article will be posted each Tuesday after the challenge ends.

There will be a different art theme for each week.  Each group member can interpret and adapt that particular art theme to their own individual artistic vision.  You really have no limits except for your imagination!

Winners will not be chosen because someone is a "better" artist than anyone else.  Other considerations will be your creative vision and how you've expressed that week's challenge art theme.  So please don't let yourself be intimidated because there may be a group member that can paint a Mona Lisa! Truly, this group is meant more for fun and the love of art/drawing than anything else!

Please submit your drawings during each particular week's art theme.  When they're submitted ahead of time, I'm afraid I will miss counting it for its particular week's art theme.

Make sure to post your drawings to the group and put something about Drawing Challenge: Art Theme of the Week entry in your caption field, along with the name of your drawing and any comments that you care to make about your drawing.  You can enter as many drawings each week as you want to but only one drawing per person will be a winner.

Does anyone want to be a guest judge?  If you do and there is a particular art theme that interests you the most, pick one, let me know and YOU can be our guest judge for that week's drawings!  If you do guest judge, your drawings don't count for the judging that week.  And a guest judge has to be a member of the Drawing Challenge Group.  But let me know if you'd like to be a guest judge, it's easy, just ask Deneen, Gary, Library & Vern!  Send me an email to let me know.  :-)

This is an entire YEAR of art themes and if I see or hear of something that sparks a new art theme idea, I just might make a change here and there throughout the year so keep checking for each week's art theme!!
