DS: This is a beautiful, lovely, and loving piece that you shared this week. Well crafted and your heart shows through...

There are so many of these moments in a child's life. When you let them go at the pool, on their own, to swim to the wall. When you release the back of the seat, and see them wobble down the sidewalk, so proud on 2 wheels; their first time in the driver's seat of 'your' car; on a date; in love; prom nite; real love; then, their babes.

Your heart, an obviously well functioning organ--based on your writings, will wobble like that bicycle at each advent in the babe's life. Rejoice! and enjoy, and you're right, don't blink too often...

I remember very well those weeks waiting in anticipation, knowing those first steps were any moment now, and desperately determined not to miss them. Wonderful poem and a wonderful memory, especially with the added word, "Fearless". So true.

Excellent. I'll admit I had to look up the form, again, but, of course, you nailed it. In just five short lines - 22 syllables - you buillt us up to an emotional climax most of us can relate to.
