Eleanor Vs. Ike, the year was 1952 and the woman was Eleanor Roosevelt. Based on the true story of Eleanor Roosevelt as she becomes the first democratic woman ever to run for president.
Eleanor Vs. Ike was brilliantly written by Robin Gerber. http://www.robingerber.com/
Eleanor Vs. Ike was both educational and interesting. It was exciting, kept my interest and each page kept me wanting more. It was Eleanor Roosevelt against Dwight (Ike) Eisenhower. And it was the first time in history that there was a woman candidate for president.
Of course, I was cheering for Eleanor! Who wouldn't want to cheer for her? Afterall, she was the underdog and nobody thought it was a woman's place. As a result, Eleanor was the target of greedy and bitter people who were trying to destroy her in more ways than one. An honest and innocent campaign turns into ridicule and scandal.
This book is a must read for any political and history fan. Whether it's history or politics that you favor, you will enjoy this book. Eleanor Vs. Ike is captivating and briliantly written.
Will we see a woman president this year, 2008?
