My Pathetic Back Yard in Photo Essay

We moved in with my father 3 years ago. It's a little like renting: The house isn't yours, so you can't do much with it, you just have to live with it the way it is. I thought you might like to see where I spend my summers.

Here we have the pool.  After my mother died, my father decided to fill it with dirt. You can see the walkway around the pool.  Inside the pool is all kinds of crazy wild plants that he dug up from around the yard and dumped into the pool.  I look at that "pool" on really hot days and just sigh. Just think of all the exercise I could be getting.........

Here is the fish pond with a little bridge. I don't know what that black thing is, I think it's a pump to the waterfall thingie.

Here is an example of the groundcover around the backyard. It is supposed to be all stones because it's supposed to be difficult to grow grass at the shore, but you can see all the grass that's growing in the rocks. I started weeding, but then gave up, and let the grass win. You can't mow it because of the stones.

Here we have 2 grills - the one on the left is broken, so I use it as a charcoal grill. The one on the right was recently purchased used in a garage sale. It works!
