First, thank you for your patience! Second, please join me in congratulating the winners of the Purple Competition for Rainbow Connections - Colorful Competitions! As always, there were many outstanding entries that were worthy of winning. With approximately 150 to select from, it was difficult to narrow it down to the 8 Best of the Best we finally chose.
My thanks to everyone who contributed -- you are all truly winners for getting into the spirit of each week's color. Your wholehearted enthusiasm makes this fun and rewarding for all of us!
For next week's theme, please see the article I posted last night: Why Are There So Many Songs About Rainbows... and What's On the Other Side? *
And the winners are:
1st Place is by : Marianne R: Across the street from Bird's Bermuda HotSpot geocache
2nd place is by : Linda K: The launch of the hanglider
3rd place is by Renda ~ With my comment, you get a 10: Day's End
4th Place is by Rick "Don Rico" J: Purple Rail
5th Place is by Bobbi K: Purple Tinged Dahlia
6th Place is by Tess ~ wishing I had more Gather time ~: Hyacinth Heaven
7th Place is by Holly G: Purple flowers growing on a trellis at Busch Gardens
8th Place is by Sherry W: With her flower.
Congratulations to all --
Here's wishing you a week filled with rainbows!

* A special request: As our group gets bigger and bigger and the number of pages of photos grows and grows, I would like to ask that you actually republish old pictures that you wish to be a part of this week's colorful competition. When you repost a photo by clicking "edit", then changing the caption and which groups it's posted to to add Rainbow Connection, the original posting date remains the same, and instead of appearing with the current entries, it stays way, way back in the files.
Republishing the photos will save me from having to scroll back through over 2 dozen pages to find the current entries, and allow everyone else to see and comment on your lovely photos more easily, too.
Although Gather should notify me of all entries that are posted, we all know this method is not entirely reliable. A couple of weeks ago, I missed some gorgeous yellow entries that were back with the blues. I even tried to find a way that I could rearrange the order the photos are displayed and didn't find anything that solved the problem. As the group grows and the number of posts and pages increases, it will be next to impossible for me to find new posts if they're scattered randomly through the back pages.
Thanks for your understanding!
