My Super-Duper Secret Trip ... Shhhhhh!

OK, I'm going to post this because I don't think any of my relatives are going to be on here tonight to see it.  I don't think I'm going to sabotage the operation or compromise our attempt at surprise.  I don't know how I've managed to keep it mum for this long, but I have.  I think I've been on the verge of exploding for the last month since we arranged this.

ANYWAY I am leaving very early tomorrow morning to fly cross-country to surprise my sister for her baby shower.  My brother-in-law (her hubby) paid for the tickets and is picking me up to meet her for lunch ... a lunch she thinks is alone with him.  In fact, he wants me to go to the restroom until he texts me that she's in the restaurant and then I am to come up to the table and ask if there's room for one more.  Corny ... yeah ... but she's going to lose her freakin' mind!  Isn't he the sweetest husband EVER!?!?  And it means that I get a vacation for ME.  Hubby took the time off and I'm going ALONE.  Ahhhhh.  Never before have I done 5 days.  A few years ago I went to a convention for 3 days, but I was busy all the time.  This will be pure relaxation.  I am SO lucky!

Typically my family (all on the West Coast) only gets to see me once every two years.  We went out last summer because my sister-in-law had a baby.  We flew her out for a visit with the baby this past October because I feel compelled to have this baby in my life.  I have two other nephews from in-laws that I never see and I want to be close to my siblings' children, regardless of the distance.  Now we'll be going back again this next summer since my sister is due in March.  I would love to come out when he's newborn, but I can't pick and choose.  Well, maybe.  We'll be getting a tax rebate.  Perhaps I can sweet talk hubby into letting me go for another couple of days.  ;)  I doubt it, but we'll see.

SOOOOO, I'll be posting less on Gather during the next 5 days ... but I'll be adding photos and stuff either while on the trip (my East Coast schedule will keep me up beyond their bedtimes!) or when I return.

Now I have to go finish packing and see if I can't get a few hours sleep.  I'm already only about 5 hours from when I have to be at the airport.  I'm so excited I don't know if I'll be able to sleep at all!
