2lbs chicken, cut into large chunks - 32 points
1/2 cup whole wheat flour - 3 points
2t oil - 1.5 points

1c chicken bouillon - 0 points
1T worcheshire sauce - 0 points
1/4 t pepper - 0 points

2 med turnips, peeled and quartered(optional) - 0 points

coat meat with flour, set excess flour aside. in a large skillet, heat oil. brown meat on all sides. in a slow cooker combine meat, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, bouillon, pepper, salt, sugar and vegetables. pour water overall. covered cook on low 8-10 hours.
mix leftover flour with a small amount of water. add, along with okra, if desired. cover and cook on high 10-15 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
total points - 44.5
6 servings - about 7.5 points each
mock beef stew variation: use beef bouillon instead of chicken, and add a packet of beef stew seasoning (adds 2 points).
8/10/09 this is in my crock pot right now. the mock beef version is untested, i'll update tonight or tomorrow to report how it turned out. could also be made with turkey instead of chicken.
