Went to see my new great granddaughter this evening. I had camera in hand with hopes of some great pictures but it was not to be. Abigail Lee was 8 lbs & 6 ozs and 19 inches long. She was also almost 5 weeks early and her lungs weren't working properly. They had her in an isolation room in the nursery and on oxygen. They said they are pretty sure she is going to be alright but will have to stay in the hospital for a week to 10 days. Only her mother is allowed in the room with her so I had to view her through a window. The way she was laying I couldn't even see her face.
My granddaughter is overweight with high blood pressure and diabetes so that is why the baby weighed as much as she did. I'm sharing the one good picture I got through the window but hope to have more in a few days.

5 weeks early weighing 8 lbs 6 oz.. wow.. I have never heard of a baby being that big that early.. Even if mom was over overweight with problems.. that normally makes for a smaller baby even...
She is a beautiful baby girl!
