what a great ploy to get more points

Oh, I've never been one to make a ton of points here, Tim... I think I cashed in enough points for maybe 3-4 $25 cards last year (for Christmas gifts).

And it wasn't a ploy to make more points (though I won't turn them down if they're offered *lol*), I was really wondering if anyone was already planning their Christmas gift list and if they were going to be giving Gather gift cards.
If so, I plan on making a point to go view/comment on their content to help them reach their goals. :o)

I want to make a payout here soon. It is going to be difficult, since I only hav two hundred sixty three points right now. Maybe I will try for 100 points per day.

Karen - I hope you're doing better at getting that 100 pts per day than I've managed to do today! *lol*
(been here off and on all day, viewing like a mad woman, and I've seen all of TWO POINTS roll in. :o\ )

I just cashed out a couple days ago, and yeah, mine are down low!

I am just using my Gather $$$ to pay bills, I don't have any left to do anything else.

I'm holding out on cashout for right now. I have a lot of friends and family members with birthdays between now and December so I'm trying to do b-days before christmas.

Yikes! I won't complain then, Rebecca---I don't have even ONE SINGLE BIRTHDAY to plan for between July and Christmas (except for me, and I don't count since I never buy myself anything).

I'll come leave you a few points today, too. ;o)

I will most likely cash in some of my points for cards as gifts. After I get over 10,000 points (close), I will cash in about 60% of the points. Then I will build it up so I can cash them in for gift cards in October.

Aside from that I buy things from the flea market or on sale at the mall - a couple of months early. I start buying and wrapping as soon as I can. Especially for teacher gifts.

Risa - you're so patient! I haven't been able to resist cashing in some points for that long! ;o)

I do some of that, too--flea markets, etc.
But it's so hard to know what to get some people--they buy for themselves when they run across something they want, and so many are shopping online (especially at eBay and Amazon), so I'm gravitating more towards gift cards lately.
I dont' feel that they're as personal, but I do try to get them cards for places that I know they eat at or shop at, so maybe I'll get Karma Points for that? ;o)

I don't use my Gather points for Christmas gift cards/presents, but I would love a triple points week like we had last year. I'm currently using my Gather paypal cashouts for a few new things for my apartment and then going into the savings account for my new car.

I think it's great that people are able to save enough to get Christmas presents taken care of thanks to Gather. Hopefully the points will pick up again soon. Gather tends to get busier once the kids head back to school, which should be next week, so we will see.

I do love to point my cameras at the canines...and Zeus is always happy to pose, he's such a ham! :o)

btw, in my icon picture he just happens to have one of those rawhides I mentioned over in your "Mal-Wart" post.. It gets ugly 'round here if the mutts run out of rawhides! Every night Zeus reminds me that it's "chewy time" by coming to me and laying a big ol' foot on my leg and looking at me with those "Pleeeeease, can I have it??" eyes....then Tracker, who is more the demanding type rather than the asking type goes and sits in front of the cabinet where I usually keep them. If I don't show signs of passing out rawhides pretty quickly he'll bark once or twice to get my attention and then drop his front end to the floor while he keeps his wiggling rump in the air, little stub tail wagging furiously. Now Otis is the really smart one...he lets the others wear me down with the sweetness and cuteness and he just shows up at my feet when the rawhides come out of the bag. *lol*

gather has too many 'rules' now, last year at this time i had cashed in almost 500$$ , this year its only about100$$.......

That is crazy that they're starting so early! I remember in JULY seeing HALLOWEEN stuff and thought that was insane too! Although I love halloween so its never too early for that. haha

Boy howdy, have you got that right, lol! And they surely seem to move so very slowly these days, but somethings still always better than nothing of course. I used to get about $25 every other month without trying and right now I been struggling to get my second one of the year still, hopefully will get it real soon now and then I will just try not to even look at the points til next year! I have been unemployed the last 6 months so lately every single dollar has got to go just to keep me in groceries and out of collections. Finally started a new job this week so I may have just squeaked by this time but Christmas this year will be far leaner than it's ever been on my end, hoping to find some perfect gifts as unbelievable deals, it could happen!

Don't worry about buying a lot of Christmas presents this year? I bet that your friends and family will be happy that they can join you in celebrating your making it through the tough times you've had for the last 6 months. ;o)

The jobs situation is still in the toilet around here---so many big employers within 75 miles of here are closing and laying off workers every month...
So few being hired for anything other than a restaurant worker....
The economy is going to be in the toilet for another year at least, I'd bet. :o(

you know, you're right of course, it's just me. It's a bad market for jobs right now all over for sure. Lowered my aim I can tell, I'm a restaurant worker, lol, fast service, but it's steady work and steady pay, all that counts at this point!

I am lucky I have most of the Christmas shopping done - I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the holiday stuff. :0)

I still have one mail order gift to schedule delivery of, and 3 gift cards to buy (I know, I hate the impersonal feel of them too but these cards were requests---book store and video game store cards, so who am I to tell people they can't have what they want for Christmas? *lol*) and then I'm done...
Except for the cookies and breads that I make to mail out to family and friends who aren't nearby)
I'm hoping to get it all done early this year so that I can relax and enjoy the season.
