The town is nestled in the mountains with part of it built into the hillsides. The downtown is filled with quaint stores filled with art and crafts of all kinds. At the edge of town is a huge quarry hole and mountains of mine rubble. We were visiting the store Katie works in when we saw a parade of red dresses across the street. I think they do this for some charity or something. Everyone was out with their cameras including me of course. I have a short video of it but gather won't let me post it.

Old mining site at the edge of town. The hills behind are mine trash.

A stone plaque on the edge of the stone quarry.

A huge hole. It's much bigger than it looks in this picture.

The red dress parade. There were people all up and down the sidewalk with their camera's out. I missed several just getting my camera turned on.

The old Woolworth building is now a shop.

Another shop just packed with a variety of stuff.

Rachel had fun trying on hats. What 14 yr. old doesn't like to shop.

Rachel and Jim headed to another shop. You can barely see Mathew. He's still on crutches from a leg operation.

We went to the mining museum but it was closed to I took pictures of the ore carts that were set up in the front. The red one is a two seater mine potty. Lol!!

Across the street from the museum one of Jim's friends had a table set up with ore, rock and semi precious stones. He just bought the oldest mine in Bisbee and invited us to see it but just wasn't time. He gave Jim two unfinished stones to polish and set for Katie and me. They are going to be beautiful. I'll post a picture when he sends it.

The mountainside B is made up of lights that they turn on at night.

The Copper Man statue. It's at a crossroads so I couldn't get close enough to read the plaque.

Going up the mountain behind Bisbee.

Another view from the mountain overlooking the town. I hope I get the chance to visit again and explore the town further. So much I didn't have time to see.

By the way, I have a group called "Arizona Splendor" that your essays and photos of the state would fit perfect in if interested. Take care.
