Last evening while I was on the phone with my sister Susan in Florida, I glanced out the window and watched this doe stroll into my back yard. I grabbed my camera and took a picture through the glass. I was afraid to open the window and scare her off. In fact I thought the flash would scare her but it didn't. After the first flash, she just stood there watching me take her picture. Even when she finally walked away she kept looking back at me. I noticed she was nursing, so she probably had her baby hidden in my woods. I'm so glad the dogs were on the other side of the house and didn't know she was there. She was back this morning looking at my window but left so fast I only got a short video of her leaving. I'll post that later.
By me with my Kodak Easy Share.

She went back probably to check on her baby.

These pictures were great of the doe!
Very nice pictures. She was close.
Wonderful pictures of the doe. Gosh I miss the country life so bad I really need to get back out in the country.
Wow!!! This is absolutely awsome.
That is really cool
you got some great shots of her Sis! No wonder you squeeled so loud when you saw her LOL
oh by the way Nan, can you turn the flash off on your camera? I can on mine and you don't get that flashback from the windows.
Yeah I can but if you'll remember I had the phone in one hand and the camera in the other and I was afraid she was going to take off any second. Besides she seemed to like the flash. Lol.
Beautiful. Lucky to have camera close by.
Great close-up shots. You had a nice vistor!
Wow..awesome shots you got!
that is awesome since I moved to the smaller town I love seeing allt he animals that just wantder such as dears, and racoons and such we even have tree frogs I hear at nite,,,
Beautiful. They will dart imediately if they smell a human. but if they can't they will watch and watch and try to figure out what you are. Often we have seen them stamp and snort trying to get us to move if they couldn't smell us.
Isn't that neat C.L.R. I just love the critters.
All I get is squirrels walking across the grate over our window (we're in the basement). That does drive the cat crazy.
i'd like to be sitting there with my camcorder when this happens. I bet Shakti and the squirrel put on quite a show.
Some years ago when my family and I still lived at home, there was a squirrel sitting on the neighbour's fense, and it wanted to get to a tree, but in order to do that, it had to pass the big grey cat lying by the swimming pool. The cat and the squirrel were making a heck of a racket arguing with eachother. Finally Dave decided he'd had enough. He took our high-pressured hose, and blew the squirrel right off the fense, into the tree. LOL
In Atlanta, we had a lot of tree rats. They'd sit on lower branches and torment the dog by either chattering at her or dropping pine cones on her head.
And how would she react to the torment? LOL Do tell!!!
Thanks for posting this to Texture Photographer
What a wonderful visitor
Very nice photos, what a great visitor. We used to feed them carrots and they'd come back every day. Some would eat right out of our hand.
Nana sometimes I put extra produce across the field and over the fence for them. I can't feed them up close because of the dogs.
what a great thing to see when looking out the window. nice shots.
Sweet shots! They can really be curious creatures. I'll bet she was really curious about all those flashes of light.
Wonderful shots of her.
Lovely creature!
A great series of shots, Nancy.
How cute. You got some great shots of her through the glass.
Great shots Nancy! This is one visitor I would not mind to have in my yard.
