a thick manilla envelope. Return address indicated it was from my lawyer.
The cover letter said something about "several copies of documents pertaining to your case." Another invoice for services rendered, of course. A "Notice of Entry of Judgment". "Proof of Service" form from the Department of Corrections verifying that the court documents were given to my ex. A form verifying the date the Supplemental Judgment was signed by the judge.
All this legal jargon is so confusing, even after 5 months.
Five months of court hearings, meetings with social workers, counselors, district attorneys; after months of long hours at work and longer hours of trying to put young lives back together; I got to the last document in the envelope.
On the next-to-last page, near the bottom, there it was.
"Respondent is awarded legal and physical custody of both children."
The details aren't important. Just know that my daughters are safe and that this is a day to rejoice and be thankful.
And, thanks to those of you who have given me support.

I just found out yesterday on Tuesday that I will be having to go back to court because of my ex. Who knows, I might be in OR sooner than I thought I would be.
God Bless and have a great week!
Congratulations on being RAOC MOTD!
Six years ago my long term legal separation was stamped by the court on Valintines Day.
Just one more slap to me in a long marriage of disappointments.
Peace.
its a wonderful end to your saga, i love happy endings!!
