Alright, I know that the weather is nice, and we need to get outside and take advantage of it as often as possible for it will be gone soon. However, not all summertime activities take place outside, especially when it is around 90 degrees out. Yesterday was one of those days.
Sweet Pea and I went outside and played for a while. She watched curiously as Mommy took some pictures, and she even pointed out some things she thought Mommy would be interested in photographing. It was just too hot to stay outside for any length of time, though, so eventually we headed back indoors. Don't get me wrong, we don't have central air or anything, but a small A/C unit in the window and some fans brought at least a little relief.
We really got spoiled at my parents' house, because they have a pool in the back yard. On hot, sunny days, we didn't need to be stuck inside. We could be out enjoying the sunshine and relaxing in the cool water of the pool. Since that is not an option here, what were we going to do in the hot afternoon? I had an idea.
Sweet Pea had gotten a set of Duplos for Christmas, but she was still too young to play with them then. I thought they would be the perfect activity for this afternoon, so I grabbed the box and opened it.
Sweet Pea dumped all the toys out of the box, so we could begin to play with them.

There was a colorful mass of different shapes spread all over.
Where should we begin?
Maybe I'll start with this one.
Mommy showed me how to do it, but this doesn't seem quite right.
I almost got it now.
Yay, I did it!
I put this together, but I don't think I like how it looks.
Yeah, I like it better this way.
Mommy, here is my masterpiece. (Yes, I know that it is blurry. Sweet Pea handed it to me, and I told her how pretty it was and what a great job she did. Then, I set it down, so I could take a picture of it. Before I could get a good picture, she picked it up and started to take it apart. Everytime I tried to put it back together and take a picture of it, she would get mad at me, grab it, start taking it apart, and try to put it back in the box. Apparently she had decided we were done, and it was time to move on to the next thing - lol!)
She started picking the toys up and putting them back in the box all by herself. I was so proud of her!

She is such a good helper!

Now we put the top back on the box, Mommy, and then we are done.
