(I've decided that I must be fairly good at advice, considering the number of "best answers" I get on Yahoo! Answers.... but I've also thought since I've encountered repeat question after repeat question, that a lot of people are looking for the same sort of help.... so I've decided every time I get a best answer on Yahoo! Answers, I will post a (revised and cleaned-up) version of the question, plus my answer here... maybe this will help some of the makeup puzzled!!!)
Question: I've been looking into buying some of the mark. hookups because they seem like they would be handy to carry in my purse, but I was wondering if you had ever tried it? Is the lipgloss, eyeshadow, and mascara any good? I'd like to try it, but I hate to waste my money if it's not good!
Answer: For those of you who are unfamiliar with mark. Makeup, a daughter company of Avon, it can be found at http://www.meetmark.com/. Mark is well-loved with the teenage generation, especially following Lauren "LC" Conrad's endorsement (she's from the Hills).
mark. is a great, natural makeup brand that is reasonably priced.
mark. is my favourite cosmetic company, so much so that I used to sell it (I don't anymore, but I sold it solely because I got a discount... I spent basically all my money on their products, so it was nice to get it a little cheaper!)
I love the hookups so much. They're really handy, and when you hook two together, about the size of a pen. The lipgloss is phenominal, but I'd stick to the lighter shades because some of the dark ones turn out REALLY dark. The mascara is very nice, and good if you just want some for your purse. I wouldn't use that mascara as the ONLY mascara you use... I'd get their full-size mascara to apply in the morning, and use that as a touch up for evening. The eyeshadow is amazing.
The nice thing about mark. is it really isn't that expensive... you can get all the of the hookups for $5.00 (and if you buy two hookups, you get the connector free). They come in really handy... and the products are just so innovative.
I completely recommend them. All of their products are very good quality and have excellent coverage.
If you're going to get it, I recommend you host a party with a local representative... I know when I did parties I'd give my host a free product, and a discount... you might be able to get some stuff cheaper if you go through a representative doing a party! Just my opinion...
Also, if you want tips on products and stuff, you can go to their new website, www.markgirl.com... it shows you some of their products, some beauty looks, and even has some nice how-to videos! It might give you some ideas of what products you want to buy!
You can buy products online at www.meetmark.com, and you can also locate your closest representative there.

In regards to the hookups specifically, here are my thoughts.
Gleamstick: This wasn't around when I sold mark., so I really don't know how they work, but it seems like they are the same as the lipsticks that they used to sell, only in hookup form. If they are the lipsticks they used to sell, I definitely recommend them! I've always loved mark. and Avon's shades in lipcolour, and the mint flavour is really light and nice.
Glow Baby Glow Hookup Lipgloss: LOVE it! One of my favourite products ever. I like to get one of these, and a mascara or even just two of these, and hook them together with the connector. It's about the length of a pen and is nice to just toss in my purse. A half one (as in, one GBG, rather than two connected with the connector) fits in my wallet just fine, in the coin part.
Glow Baby Glow Luxe: I really want to try this one. My guess is it's just like the GBG, only shimmer-y-er. Which I would like for going out, so yeah... I'm guessing it's worth trying!
Pro Glimmer Hook Up Powder: I've actually been looking for this in other brands, so I'm considering buying this. I'm really not sure how it works, but I really honestly think it's worth a try.
Pro Gloss Hook Up Plumping Lip Shine: I haven't tried this either, but I've heard with mixed with the powder makes for a truly stunning pout. I don't think I'd personally buy this one because my lips are already pretty full, but I think for thinner lips this really could be a good idea.
Sheenstick Hook Up Lip Balm- This is great for younger teens who really just want a little colour without going all out, but also good for older teens and adults who really want the "lip balm" without much colour, or a nice balm to wear under their gloss or lipstick. The colour reminds me of the pink Labello balms they sell in the German Apothekes.... but I could be wrong! I've not actually purchased this yet.
Shine Tubes Hook Up Lip Gloss- I haven't tried this, but I will admit it makes me nervous. For one, I think they're starting to stray into something that could easily get popped in a purse and get EVERYWHERE. Plus, I've always thought lip glosses that came in a tube were far too sticky. However, a lot of girls love these, so this might be more for them. I'm just going to say, I probably wouldn't spend MY money on them, but I think that if you like tubed glosses, that it's worth a shot!
Tinted Sheenstick Hook Up Lip Balm- I'd really like to try this for those winter days when I want lip balm, but also a hint of colour. I'm excited to put this on my makeup wish list!
I-Sheer Creamy Eyeshadow Hookup- I much prefer this as a smokey eye base, rather than the whole shebang on my eyes. I think it's too creamy, and I don't really like a creme shadow, except as a base. However, when used properly, it is really a good product.
Metalliner Eye Glam Hookup- For being liquid liner, it's great. I don't wear much liquid liner on myself, but I use it a lot on my makeup jobs. I really think this is a great liner, that really glams up the eyes.
On the Edge Hook Up Liner- Again, as liquid liner, this is really nice, but I don't really use liquid liner much on my own face, so I usually don't buy it.
Scandalash Hook Up Mascara- I really like it as a nice touch up mascara. I prefer other mark. mascara better for normal use, but this is really handy to have in my purse, especially on days where I overslept and didn't get a chance to put on makeup.... I'm a pro at applying this in the bathroom between classes.
Winkstick hook up eyeshadow- I haven't tried this yet, but I'm DESPERATE to. It looks really nice.
Crystal Shimmer hookup powder- I like applying this to the bridge of my nose or my temples or cheekbones to make me look a little more awake.
Shimmer tubes hookup Gel Blush- Not going to lie, this one makes me nervous. I'm not really a fan of gel blushes, though.
The high point is, all hookups are $5.00 each, which is really cheap, and they last a long time. I most definitely recommend them. Like I said, they are about the length of a pen (two hooked together) and fit really nicely in a purse or checkbook.
