WATERMARKING, SIGNING PHOTOGRAPHS

Good morning, All! I have a question. I have recently acquired Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and would like to know how to watermark my photographs for sharing and marketing. Unless I have just completely missed it, I can't find where I can put a watermark in or copyright information. Any help any of you could offer would be great.

Use the text option . . . write what's needed . . . then set transparency (above the right-side layers menu) to the transparency desired and flatten image. :)

Just putting your name on it isn't a watermark, I've been struggling trying to get this to work in photoshop too.
I'm going to try Doyle's idea.

Good question. If anybody knows anything about watermarking, I hope they can say so here! Doyle usually has some great solutions with Photoshop. Thanks for posting to Gather Sepia!

In most of the editing programs I use it is called Text. I do this to my photos posted here because I sell them and give them to tourism groups for their publications. If you don't want your photos popping up on facebook, photobucket and places like that you should mark your photos.

Even the program that came with my camera has Text in it.
