Okay, the 1st week I was a little leary. Where I haven't been cooking my food with tea very often, I have been drinking tea quite a bit. However, while I don't see inches melting off. I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. This is more than I usually lose in a year. I'm not going hungry, but I'm not stuffing my face either.
I've been eating smaller portions of what I usually eat. I try to incorporate tea into my recipes where I can, and where it seems to fit. Other than that I'm drinking tea for the majority of the day. If it's not tea, than it is water with lemon. I still have an occasional soda, but it's not very satisfying.
I tried the Tea Rice the other day and it was great!
TEA RICE:
2 teaspoons dry Plum Oolong Tea or any other Oolong tea you love (Used plain black tea)
2 cups boiling water
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper ( didn't use pepper)
1 cup brown rice ( used white rice as I had that in my kitchen)
Brew the dry tea in boiling water for 10 minutes [you can still resteep these leaves and use again]. Strain the tea into a saucepan. Bring the strained tea to a boil. Add the salt and pepper. Rinse the rice well. Add the rice to the boiling tea.Lower the heat until the tea is at a simmer. Cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid and simmer approximately 40 minutes, or until tea has been absorbed by rice. Fluff rice with fork-eat.
This recipe serves 6 and only has 180 calories per 1/2 cup serving, protein is 4g., carbs are 38gs. and the fat count is only 1.5g.
This recipe has been taken directly from the Ultimate Tea Diet book by Mark Ukra. My alterations are in parenthesis.
Yes, I altered the recipe a bit as to what I had available. So my version was not as good. After all brown rice, is better for you than white rice, but it was still good!
I no longer have a headache from dieting. I think my body adjusted to eating healthier and less of that which isn't. I'm just so happy I lost 6 pounds!!
