Every year the Arts Council in our town put on a really cool free festival for kids aged 3-12. This is the first year we have gone, and the theme was Taiwan and Asian culture. This was neat for us because my brother is married to Rebecca (Jai-Lai) who is originally from Tawain. I loved being able to share a day with my kids learning about the country where their Auntie is from.

There were Taiwan exchange students helping from three area towns. They were very excited to bring part of there heritage to our small town.

Here were some of the local exchange students doing a silly dance for all the kids to Asian music. It was really neat to experience someone elses culture.

These young students were walking around underneath the Asian dragon which my kids both thought was the coolest thing ever. They were underneath it walking around the festival. I stopped them at one point and asked them for a picture.

This is the fountain that sits in the center of the park. The kids were excited to see that it had dark blue coloring in it the day of the festival.

This was a decoration above one of the craft booth where the kids got to make paper dragons.
My favorite part of the festival was the Asian garden. There was a little garden and Asian decorations. They dressed the kids up in childrens clothes from Taiwan and it was so much fun for me.

Maddie was so excited to dress up in these fancy clothes. Aidan, not so much. He did attempt to give his Mommy a fake smile though (above).

I was so happy to have been able to get this shot. I'm going to frame it and give it to their favorite Aunt Rebecca as a Christmas gift this year. She will be so happy to see that her niece and nephew are learning about the country from where she originated.
