After all the gifts were open and the wrapping materials were cleaned up, we played with the new toys for a while, and then headed to IHOP for lunch. The restaurant was very crowded, probably because they were one of the few places that still opened today.
When we were about done eating, Kyleigh said she wanted to go window shopping. I assumed most retail places would be closed today, but we found an outlet clothing store in the same strip mall as IHOP and they were miraculously open. It looked like they were about to go out of business, because almost everything was 50% off, and many items were priced at $1.99. There was almost no one there but us and three employees.
Grandma was able to pick up a few gems, including a Jones New York shirt for $1.99. Kyleigh also had fun running about and looking at the mirrors in the large show room. She had her eyes on a yellow glittering butterfly shirt (teenage girl's size) and carried it in her hands for a long time. The shirt was only $1.99 and I was going to buy it for her for fun (and I thought it looked cute anyway) but both Grandma and Daddy disliked it, so it went back to the shelf. We left the store with 4 name-brand high quality shirts for under $10.
We were going to take Kyleigh somewhere else to play, but she reached her limits and requested that we take her home. We thought she would take a nap but she continued playing her new toys and watched the Teletubbies once we got home. Kyleigh eventually fell asleep while watching Lion King (probably the 20th time in the last few days, if not more). I think it is clear that she had a great Christmas this year.
