I don't - after doing it one year and have a yearling deer try to eat them we decided it was not worth the risk of harming the wild life - but I do miss it
I always have Thanksgiving so I don't want to take away its thunder. I keep all my pumpkins, fall leaves, scarecrows and harvest up through Thanksgiving weekend. By Monday, everything is down and Christmas lights are going up.
The other day I enterd a store with plans to buy. Christmas decorations were up. I was offended and walked out to buy elsewhere--where they still let me think abut Thanksgiving and autumn!
I love to see Christmas trees and lights during the proper season, not outside it!
And I love to hear Christmas carols *during the season*. Real ones (about Jesus); not the secular songs.
True Christmas goes from after midnight mass on the 24th of December through Epiphany. But it's okay to put up the tree and decorations after noon (and after church) on the 4th Sunday in Advent.
