What ever happened to manners with people,I was in the store tonight picking up a few things and I realize its busy so I tried to politley make my way through the crowd and keep my patience but as I was doing this people were pushing me and shoving me..And just as I was getting really annoyed by this time, some girl bout my age comes running through the lanes and practically ran me over ,I fell into the hard cold shelf as she zoomed by me not looking,NOT EVEN SAYING EXCUSE ME!!!!!!!!!!! I was right in front of her and she was not stopping..As she did this I yelled at her EXCUSE ME MISS MANNERS!!!! Oh she did not like that at all,but I smiled and walked away,,HOW RUDE,what happened to people saying excuse me and thank you,for goodness sakes, maybe if you did this people would get out of your way ..ya think???????????? I kept my manners after that as much as I didnt want to but I cant take it out on the innocent.
I mean come one now,,,its not gonna hurt you to be nice and ask someone politley to move.!!!!I mean what do you expect when you come to a tourist area and you all decide to go shopping at the same time, get over yourselves your on vacation relax,I live here and deal with it everyday but you dont see me running you over and shoving and pushing you!!!

Since I've begun using a cane, people tend to allow me a little more room. Good thing, too. If they didn't, I could use the cane to whack 'em. Young, upstart whipper-snappers!
It must have been really crowed. BTW, Sixteen is up. This link won't get you there. Click my name, then articles on the yellow bar to find it. (This is a comment link for A Stone's Throw Away. I remember a story that my father told me some years ago ..... it was about a little old lady who was rudely jostled as a young man rushed past her .... he almost knocked her off of her feat and didn't offer an apology or say excuse me or anything ....
to make a long story short ... she tottered up to the nearest police officer and complained about the rudeness of the young man, giving the officer a rather indignant, but pretty good description of the man ... and the direction he was heading when he ran into her .....
I can't remember if the cop was just humoring the old lady, or if he recognized the description of the guy ..... but he calls the information into the station and then goes off to look for the rude fellow .......... when he actually DOES locate the man, the cop arrests him ......... turns out that he had just robbed a bank and was fleeing on foot when he ran into the old lady without apologizing ...... and he was arrested with the money on his person, too ....
If he had shown any manners towards the old lady, she would not have gone to the police officer and told him about the rude fellow ... or pointed him in the direction the bank robber had gone ......... and he would probably have gotten away with his crime ...... Sooooo .... ironically, a little bit of manners could have saved that idiot from having to face the consequences of his earlier actions ..... lol .....
you see it all over
drivers, in stores everywhere
We took the boys to the fair yesterday. While we were waiting in line in the 90 degree weather a mom budged her boys in front. I was sooooo mad. Our kids didn't notice, but I did say something. What the hell???
Manners have gone by the wayside. I remember growing up I always said, "yes ma'am, yes sir, please and thank you." Now it is a miracle if a kid says more than "yeah."
I was always taught my P's and Q's and to always say 'yes ma'am, yes sir" and I still talk to individuals who are older than me by their last name (senior citizens) or even Ms. Mary.
I agree with many of the above comments. People haven't changed, parenting has. People are not teaching their children common courtesy so they grow up to be thoughtless, unempathetic adults.
LOL!
When you don't have to deal with big city traffic, or big city crime, people seem to be nicer to each other.
I go to a small town in Northern Michigan quite often, and it is like day and night from Suburban Detroit.
I would have not been as polite as you though. She seriously could have injured you.
I would have been yelling at her to slow down and watch out.
That was wrong of her to be so rude.
