I had a great time meeting my Canadian family this past weekend in Toronto. Some I have met on previous occasions but there were so many at the picnic that I hadn't met before. Plus many I didn't get to meet while at the picnic. There were about 85 to 90 people in total there. The weather was not so great - dreary and overcast most of the day. The rain held off until we were getting ready to leave. The kids had a great time playing together at the playground in the park where the picnic was held.
And the food was delicious. I wish I had my camera with me to take a picture while I was waiting in line. We had lasagna, homemade sausages (hot and sweet), salad, green beans, and zucchini fritters to name a few. Some families brought their own steak to grill and others brought pizza.
I am so glad I made the trip. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go because of the cost of the flight to Toronto. I flew to Pittsburgh and drove up with my parents. I took the whole week off so I was able to stay a few extra days. We stopped at Niagara Falls, ON on the way back to PA.
I made it back Wednesday night two hours earlier that planned because of flight delays. I was able to get on an earlier flight. My suitcase didn't make it back until yesterday, but it was a small price to pay to come home earlier and not have to lug it throughout the Pittsburgh airport.
I have a few pictures to post. Most of the ones I took include family members which I don't feel right posting without their permission.
