I turned 16 in 1996. For the first few months, I drove a 1989 Peugeot that was my moms. Then around September of 1996(I turned 16 in June), we got both a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and a Chevy 3500 Dually. The Jeep ended up being my car, but I drove the truck a lot as well since I rode horses. Nothing scarier than a tiny little blond girl barreling up behind you at 10 over the speed limit in the largest truck you can drive without a CDL. :)

I turned 16 in 98. I started out driving one of the vehicles that my family owned. Most often I drove a 93 GMC Sonoma, but I drove our 84 Mercury Marquis quite a bit. Sometimes I drove my brother's 99 Dodge Ram, but not often. It was too big and I was too scared. Ha! The first car that I bought myself was a 93 Grand Prix.

And only if Mom or Dad wanted me to do something for them. No special car for me until I was done with college and 6 months into my first "permanent" job.

Mine was a ford excort wagon. I loved that thing it would never die. My stupid ex got it impounded after taking it one night and got pulled over for not having a license. Now I have my dodge minivan which is also a great vehicle with a few problems but hasnt died on me yet knock on wood. I want to get a newer van this tax time mine I have now is a 2000 Id like something newer.

HAHAHA I got my license in 1992 and my great-grandmother had passed her car to my mother, who decided to give it to me. It had 4,000 miles on it. IT was a poo brown 1984 Plymouth Reliant!!!!! OMG.....did I look funny. But I loved that car. It had bench seats!!! It was awesome!!!

It was 1981 and I drove my dads 1978 Chevy Station Wagon that he had air shocks on the back end. There was no air conditioner and it had crank windows.
The radio didn't have FM so I had a nice battery operated boom box on the front seat with me.
The car was cranberry color and I could fit like 9 passengers in it if I needed to.

I drove my mother's bright kelly green 1976 Ford Maverick. I hear about kids today who wouldn't be caught dead driving their mother's new mini-van - they don't realize how good their option is compared to what mine was.

I was 16 in 1967 and my parents car was a big black Ford station wagon with wood look trim. My boyfriend had a 1965 Ford Galaxy Convertible at the time. Their next car was a 1973 Black mercury comet.
My first personally bought car was a 1964 Baby Blue Ford Falcon that I gave $50 for in 1969. I had to fix the tranny right away as it only had 1st and reverse. Gas was .29 cents a gallon then and we drove it from mid Michigan to Alabama on a tank of gas.

My parents had two cars, a Torino and a Belvedere ... I drove the Belvedere most. That car drove like a tank but it had serious pickup.

Started out driving a 63 VW beetle, but "progressed" to a 51 Chevy. It was awful and I was ashamed to be seen in it, but it did get me to school and back.
When my daughter started driving in 1997, she drove the family car for a year without a ticket or accident. We bought her a 98 Mustang. She was so proud of her first car!
