I caught a snake

            Today I was taking out the trash, there was a trash bag by the frount door that needed to be taken down by the cans for the trash guy. As I picked it up I could see some worms on the ground and then I saw A big something move. Well it wasn't that big more like a baby but it was bigger than the worms.  I ran to get a jar and when I came back it was hiding under a leaf. I  put the jar down and that snake went right in.  It Is a small all gray snake with a light pink belly. It's head is small and it's tail looks like it comes to a point. I have no Idea what kind it is, but I will be asking around. If I find out I will Post what I find out about it. For now the snake is in a big Jar with a lid, with some water, a rock and some dirt.  Oh I did put three worms in with it, Maybe the snake will eat one.

Ooh neat! I hope you find out what it is. We have a little snake that I keep seeing in my yard all the time. He doesn't bother me so I leave him alone too.

I don't care for snakes myself but that's probably due to my little brother dying from a copper head bite when he was 14 months old. The serum they gave him at the hospital wasn't any good. Also my grandmother at the age of 80 was bitten by a copperhead. She lived through it though but was in the hospital and plenty sick for a few days. Hope yours isn't poisonous.

You might want to look it up to see if it is a native species or an invasive (it could be an escaped pet) before you just let it go.

wow scary if it is a copperhead ....DONT GET BIT !!!!!!!!! A snake bit me once and it was caught in the wild ....didn't know what it was either ...good thing I am still here !!!

I'm afraid of snakes and would have been a thousand yards in the other direction. Do you have a vet or zoo so you could find out what it is and if it is poisonous? Good luck.

Ok I found out what kind of snake that I found It was a WORM SNAKE. A snake that has only been found in this area ( Ohio River WV side ) . A guy in this area found the only other one anyone has seen before. You can good it up on the net. He posted a thing on the net about the one he found. Very cool to see!


Like a small very small black (gray) snake. It dug into the dirt like a worm very cool.
