"Remedies" in English
When I ran into my friend at the post office the other day and told her my health issues, she gave me a recommendation to ease the cough and bronchitis. I don't know if she learned this from her studies of spirtuallity and healing techniques or if it's an "old family recipe", but:
Cook ginger in water to make a "tea". This is not something you'll drink, but to gargle with. It will break up the phlegm and make the cough lighter.
I've been using ginger tea - not the stuff in tea bags, but real ginger - made with cinnamon sticks and lemon - for years to reduce fever. I'd never gargled with it.
But after gargling a lot, I found last night that the cough was indeed less. I was no longer left gasping for air, and I felt that there was much less congestion in the chest.
Another positive of this remedy - if you swallow it, not only does it taste good, but it is good for you. Ginger is used to settle the stomach and aid in digestion.
