The Nardin Oklahoma Heritage Days Celebraton will be Saturday May 23. According to the vendor signup form it is from "10:00 AM until whenever". The location is in Nardin at Pioneer Park, next to the Nardin Museum. It is a very small town, so you should have no trouble finding the event once you get there. There will be a parade, tractor pull, food, cake walk, band, Miz Peach, and gunfighters. An article in the Firday, May 8, 2009 Blackwell Oklahoma Journal Tribune gives additional information. Nardin is in northern Oklahoma, six miles west of I-35 at the Blackwell Exit. The parade starts at 10:30 AM, and it is one of the largest antique vehicle parades in north-central Oklahoma. The gunfighters are called the Riders of the Cimarron. There will be a band-the Quarternotes, from the Wichita Kansas area. The tractor pull will be an antique tractor pull. For the kids, there will be turtle races, a rock climbing wall, a 20 foot inflatable slide, and an a caterpillar inflatable. Miz Peach is a character a lady created based on historical personalities. Sounds like a good old fashioned fun day! I will have a Tupperware booth at the festival. If you come, be sure to stop by and say hi from Gather.
